New Intensa special edition adds gold wheels to your Alfa Romeo
Alfa adds a new range-topping trim level, bringing a handful of stylish tweaks inside and out

- New range-topping Intensa trim level for Alfa Romeo
- Available for the Tonale, Giulia, Stelvio and Junior
- Brings interior and exterior styling tweaks
Alfa Romeo has launched a new special edition Intensa series, available across its entire lineup. The range-topping trim level is “designed to celebrate the exclusivity of Alfa Romeo and its rich heritage”, packing a classy black and gold exterior theme, along with a few unique interior touches.
While the exact specification varies from model to model, all Intensa Alfa Romeos get a set of exclusive, diamond-cut alloy wheels finished in a shade of gold – something you won’t find on any rival model from Germany. The exterior styling is complimented by black paintwork, although other colours – such as Alfa’s rather nice ‘Brera Red’ – are available optionally.
Which Alfa Romeos get the Intensa edition?

The Intensa special series is available across the brand’s entire lineup. That includes the Tonale and Stelvio SUVs, the Giulia saloon and the electric Junior Elettrica. The only car currently missing from the list is the hybrid Junior Ibrida, but it’s set to get the Intesa treatment at a later date.
Starting with the Junior, the Intensa edition has picked up the aforementioned gold alloy wheels, plus some extra gold accents on the outside. Unlike other Junior models, the front grille is finished in the main body colour, rather than matte black. Inside, you’ll find Alcantara upholstery for the dashboard, central tunnel and door panels, tan stitching and ‘Intensa’ logos embossed in the seats.
The Tonale Intensa gets gold alloy wheels of a different design, along with some black and gold brake calipers behind. There are similar interior upgrades to the Junior, but Alfa has thrown in some extra kit to sweeten the deal. You get the trick ‘Dual-Stage Valve’ electronic suspension system as standard, plus a Harmon Kardon sound system, a 360-degree parking camera, a powered tailgate, parking assistance and more.

The Giulia and Stelvio Intensa editions get a unique leather dashboard and door panels. Outside, you’ll spot the Italian flag proudly painted on the tip of the wing mirrors and – you guessed it – gold alloy wheels. Alfa has also included the active suspension system for these models, plus the Driver Assistance Pack – normally a £1,100 option.
How much does the Intensa trim level cost?
The Alfa Romeo Junior Intensa is the cheapest of the lot, costing from £38,905. That’s for the Elettrica model, while a more affordable Ibrida hybrid will be available at a later date.
The Tonale Intensa costs £46,855 for the mild hybrid, or £53,985 for the plug-in hybrid, making it the most expensive trim level for this model.
The Alfa Romeo Giulia Intensa costs from £51,725, which places it at the top of the hierarchy (aside from the much pricier Giulia Quadrifoglio, of course). The Stelvio Intensa will set you back £59,800. It’s only available with the 276bhp petrol engine and not the diesel engine available in other Stelvio models.
Aside from the Junior Ibrida, all Intensa models are on sale now, with the first deliveries scheduled for April this year.
