Hyundai i40 Tourer revealed at Geneva

The Hyundai i40 Tourer arrives at Geneva ready for production, providing value for money without sacrificing style and practicality. The new estate will be available to buy in the UK from July 2011.

The Hyundai i40 Tourer is go! The family focused estate replaces the slow selling Sonata, and has Toyota's Avensis set firmly in it's sights.

Prices for the Hyundai i40 Tourer will start at around £20,000 when it goes on sale in the summer, with a saloon version joining the line-up in October.

Instantly recognisable as a member of the Hyundai family, the i40 gets the hexagonal front grille that's used on all the firm's cars - but also features LED daytime running lights and eye catching chrome window surrounds.

The smartly designed body incorporates a panoramic glass roof and a 553-litre boot that increases to 1,719-litres when the rear seats are folded. The interior is practical and stylish.

Standard equipment levels are good. All models come with nine airbags, Bluetooth, sat-nav, lane-keeping assist, adaptive lighting, a heated steering wheel and even heated reclining rear seats.

Hyundai believes that providing high standard specs along with the peace of mind their five-year Triple Care Warranty provides will attract more customers to the brand.

Two petrol and two diesel engines will be available, the more powerful 134bhp 1.7-litre diesel is expected to be the most popular and emits 119/km of CO2 when fitted with the BlueDrive pack that includes Intelligent Stop & Go (ISG). The more eco-friendly 114bhp diesel emits just 113g/km of CO2 and averages 66mpg on the combined cycle.
