SsangYong’s SUV/pick-up crossover will be available to buy in the UK in the Autumn.
The company hopes that the Korando Sports will combine the ride and comfort of a passenger car, the space and seating for five adults of an SUV and the practicality of a commercial pick-up.
The pick-up will come with a 2.0-litre diesel engine, part-time four-wheel drive, air-conditioning, Bluetooth connectivity and reclinable rear seats. Two versions will be offered – the standard SX and the higher spec EX, which adds heated leather seats, a powered driver’s seat, 18-inch alloy wheels, heated, electrically adjustable, power-folding door mirrors, rear parking sensors, accident avoidance, electronic stability, active roll-over protection and hill start assist. A six-speed automatic gearbox with cruise control can be added as an extra.
The large, flat rear deck provides just over 2 square metres of load space, complete with deck liner and anchor points for safe haulage. You can get a rigid hard top as an option, including a hinged rear window that locks with the car’s central locking.
All versions are covered by SsangYong’s five-year unlimited mileage warranty. Final prices and specifications will be announced at the UK launch in October.
