First official pictures show off supermini’s stylish new looks ahead of it Geneva Motor Show debut in March.
Meet the new Kia Picanto! The new supermini is the latest to receive Korean firm Kia’s new family look, and will make its debut in production form at the Geneva Motor Show in March, alongside the all-new Rio estate.
The new supermini is a completely new car from the ground up, and will be offered as a five-door in most markets, while the UK and Europe will also get the option of a sportier-looking three-door hatchback.
Kia describes the newcomer’s look as “bolder, more mature and more self confident.” Just like the Korean firm’s latest offerings, the Picanto gets more elaborately sculpted flanks, intricate lights and a tiger’s snout grille - plus that wide eye-catching front bumper.
The new Picanto will feature four all-new engines in 1.0-litre and 1.2-litre sizes, which the firm claim will boast class-leading CO2 emissions levels. In addition to the standard petrol engines, LPG natural gas, bi-fuel and flex-fuel variations will be available depending on local market requirements.
The exact timing of the car’s arrival in the UK market is yet to be decided, although it should appear in showrooms by May this year, with the Rio set to arrive in time for summer.
