Peugeot 208 XY unveiled
Peugeot announces new luxury version of the 208.
The Peugeot 208 XY will be available in six colours with gloss-black trim and chrome finishing, plus new halogen headlamps and 17-inch diamond-Anthra Mercure alloy wheels.
The XY will be available with two 1.6-litre petrol engines and three 1.6-litre diesels. The VTi 120 petrol comes with a five-speed manual gearbox, and emits 134g/km, while the THP 156 comes with a six-speed manual, and emits 135g/km. Both the e-HDi 92 FAP five-speed manual and six-speed EGC diesels produce 98g/km, while the 115 FAP, six-speed manual diesel emits 135g/km.
The chrome and aluminium finishing is carried over inside the car, too, with cloth-and-Alcantara seats overstitched with purple bronze cord. Black or bronze Nappa leather is available as an option. The standard seven-inch touchscreen can be connected to mobile devices via USB and Bluetooth, playing music on a six-speaker system.
Options include dynamic cornering lighting, security alarm and heated seats, while the panoramic glass roof with ambiance backlight, dual-zone air-conditioning, speed limiter/cruise control and front-seat armrests with storage cubbies are fitted as standard.
Prices will be announced nearer launch.
