The Volvo V40 R-Design equipment level will make a star appearance on the company’s stand at the Paris Motor Show later this month.
Designed to give the five-door hatchback V40 a sporty look, the R-Design equipment includes a high-gloss front grille, more aggressive bumpers and twin exhaust pipes.
Large 17-inch, five-spoke alloy wheels are standard, but an optional 18-inch design will be available.
The V40 R-Design is available with a 10mm lower Sports chassis, featuring firmer suspension. This was developed with tuner Polestar, whose trademark Rebel Blue paint – shown in the pictures – is one of seven exterior colour choices.
Inside are a sports steering wheel and pedals, plus Nubuck fabric seats with a blue R-Design logo.
The R-Design is offered with all engines, from the 113bhp D2 turbodiesel – emitting 94g/km of CO2 – to the new top-of-the-range 250bhp T5 flagship, which covers 0-62mph in 6.5 seconds.
The new T5 model will arrive in UK dealers in November, costing from around £30,000, while the V40 R-Design will be launched next month, with prices starting at £21,720.
