Perodua Myvi owner reviews

"The Perodua Myvi is an ideal town car thanks to its short overhangs and it has a very grown-up interior."

I would not say it's a junk, nor an excellent car. Clearly, it's okay. :)

Read other reviews on this car and felt obliged to tell the truth rather than lies on this car. One guy said everything was horrible and fell apart. I know that's rubbish because he also claims he has the 1 litre diesel version. They don't do a diesel version. This car is nippy and the engine is extremely reliable because its the same engine as the 1.3 yaris vvti. Refinement is good and strangely enough refinement gets better after 10 mins of driving as the car goes into warm up period. Car is very spacious inside considering its outside dimensions. Parking is a doddle. Motorway driving is fine. Never struggles but you could say its not fast either. Rear seats fold completely flat which is useful. They give you everything you need in a car electric windows front and rear. Air con. Remote central locking. CD player. If you drive carefully no doubt this car will last as long as you want it to providing you service as the right time.

The Perodua Myvi is a very good car. There is plenty of headroom and it is easy to get in and out . There is plenty of room back and front. It is an excellent car for the retired and not so nimble. I was disappointed with the car tax - £150 and the lack of contact from the dealer after purchase. That apart, it can be highly recommended. The engine and automatic gearbox is silky smooth.

If you are looking for a small car for a small budget then this is the one. It's a great little car, especially if you want something you can work on yourself. I did a full engine service and replaced the front pads - all for £40. The only negative cost wise is the tax bracket it's in, but that's because it doesn't have sensors on everything (only another thing to go wrong IMO), so fair enough as far I'm concerned. We've done loads of miles in our little Myvi on all types of road. It's not even too bad on long distance motorway driving. You wouldn't to do it regularly (it's a little bit noisy compared to our 2013 Megane Est.)but we've made 100 mile plus trips in it with no issues. There are a couple of niggles - the paint chips quite easily and the electric windows can be a bit sticky to open (no problem closing strangely). So, there you go. A good all-rounder, probably making an ideal car for first time drivers or a cheap second car for nipping to the shops etc.

Sorry, but this is a car which isn't cheap and cheerful; it's just cheap. The engine isn't powerful enough, the steering feels heavy, the seats are rubbish, the ride is a nightmare and the interior is worse than an old shed.

It is the best little run around for the price I have ever driven, and I have owned over 55 cars to date.

This car is the epitome of reliability since it is made by Daihatsu (Toyota). Its been almost 7 years since I've got this car and not once I've had a problem with the engine or gearbox. It offers the minimal stuff that a standard car from the early 2000's does. Its fuel efficiency is very commendable (manual). However, lacks in safety features. It's a perfect car for students, retirees and low income earners.
