Peugeot 208 GTi hatchback (2013-2018) - MPG, running costs & CO2
Peugeot 208 GTi running costs are better on average than most of its rivals
The Peugeot 208 GTi’s running costs are slightly better on average than rivals like the Renault Clio RS and MINI Cooper S. Peugeot offers servicing plans to spread out the cost of maintenance, too.
Peugeot 208 GTi MPG & CO2
Whether you go for the Prestige or sportier Peugeot Sport model, your GTi will be equipped with the same 1.6-litre 208bhp petrol engine. Fuel economy figures are the same, no matter which model you pick and are highly competitive against the Vauxhall Corsa VXR and Renault Clio RS.
Peugeot claims that up to 52.3mpg is possible, which is around 4mpg more than the Renault Clio RS. However, if you drive the 208 GTi as fast as Peugeot intended, expect to visit the fuel station more often than you’d hope. All 208 GTis cost £140 a year to tax.
Insurance
The GTi Prestige is in insurance group 32, while the GTi by Peugeot Sport model is one group higher. In comparison, the Renault Clio RS is in group 29 and the MINI Cooper S is in group 28.
Warranty
All Peugeot models come with a pretty average three-year/60,000-mile warranty. It is exactly competitive, considering the MINI Cooper S has an unlimited mileage quota, while the Clio RS is covered for an extra year.
Servicing
Peugeot offers a range of servicing options that extends to the 208 GTi. You can cover the maintenance costs of your hot hatchback for three, four or five years and pay a monthly fee. Peugeot regularly have offers on maintenance and servicing, so keep your eyes peeled for any limited time offers.
