Hot car deal: stylish Peugeot 408 for just £176 per month
Our hot deal for January 9 is the striking Peugeot 408 coupe SUV for just £176 per month
The Peugeot 408 is a stylish and sporty-looking family car that still manages to provide a decent amount of practicality. One thing’s for sure though, its quirky styling will certainly polarise opinion, and you’ll no doubt either love or loathe its looks.
The French manufacturer has labelled the 408 a ‘C-segment fastback’, which means it’s similar in size to models like the Volkswagen Golf and Ford Focus. However, it throws in design cues from rivals such as the Citroen C5 X (which it shares parts with) and the Renault Arkana – all of which feature a sloping rear roofline and slightly raised ride height to deliver a coupe SUV appearance.
What’s so good about this Peugeot 408 deal?
Well, have you seen the price? This fantastic deal from Nationwidevehiclecontracts.co.uk lets you cover up to 5,000 miles a year with an initial payment of £2,117.52, then 24 monthly payments of £176.46. But there is some flexibility to tailor the contract further; for example, you can extend the agreed annual mileage allowance to 10,000 miles, although monthly payments will rise to £209.15, with an increased deposit amount of £2,509.80 required, too.
The 408 model offered in this particular deal comes in top-spec GT trim, which includes 19-inch alloy wheels, ultra-slim full matrix LED headlights, rear parking sensors, a powered tailgate, a heated steering wheel and a 10-inch digital driver’s display.
Power is supplied via a 129bhp 1.2-litre PureTech petrol engine paired with an eight-speed automatic gearbox. 0-62mph is dispatched in 10.4 seconds, while Peugeot claims you should see average fuel consumption of between 41-48mpg.
What’s so good about the Peugeot 408?
The Peugeot 408 offers plenty of style, not only on the exterior, but also in the cabin where its premium materials and sharp digital displays help it to stand out from other French rivals. Practicality remains good enough for families, with the 408 boasting an impressive 536-litre boot and decent passenger space.
One point we would raise is that you spend some time behind the wheel before doing the deal. Peugeot’s i-Cockpit setup isn’t for everyone, and the small steering wheel and slightly awkward seating position might put some off. If you’re still keen after a test drive, then you’ll have a striking-looking family car that's well-equipped, practical and very competitively priced.

Anything else I need to know about this deal?
This is a lease deal, often referred to as Personal Contract Hire (PCH), so there’s no option to buy the car at the end of the contract. You are effectively renting the car for the two-year term, but the deal is very flexible so you can adjust the term length, mileage limit and initial payment size to suit but only at the outset. Once the deal is over, you just hand the keys back and start looking for your next car.
Our hot deals are carefully selected by our car buying experts and they are all subject to change. Always read the full terms and conditions and make sure the car and the deal suits your needs before proceeding.
