Peugeot has turned out an impressive number of models with top safety ratings, including the 508. Owner satisfaction is also a strong point, with Peugeot performing better than rival manufacturers including Ford, Volkswagen and Hyundai in our latest Driver Power survey.
Peugeot 508 SW reliability
In our 2022 Driver Power survey, Peugeot owners were a very happy bunch, placing the French manufacturer fourth out of 29 brands, well ahead of rivals like Volkswagen (18th), Skoda (20th) and Ford (25th). Customers were particularly pleased with interior styling and ride comfort, along with low running costs. The heating controls could be easier to use, though, and a middling 17.6% of owners reported a fault within the first year.
Safety
The Peugeot 508 hatchback has already been awarded a five-star Euro NCAP safety certificate, which will also apply to the SW estate. Autonomous emergency braking is standard, along with an SOS system that alerts the emergency services automatically if a collision deploys the car's airbags. Three ISOFIX points are also included, positioned in the outer rear seats and the front passenger seat.
