Fast Audi estates have always been popular – they're comfortable, practical and quick – and the A6 Allroad has all those aspects in spades. There are two trims to choose from - the basic Allroad model or the 'Sport' version.

The Allroad is taller than the regular A6 Avant and this does have a small effect on handling. Added weight means there's a little more lean in corners, too. This is more than made up for by the all-round air suspension, which provides excellent comfort at speed and useful flexibility – it can be raised up to 45mm for the occasional off-road diversion, and will lower itself by 15mm on the motorway.
The huge, 20-inch wheels that can be fitted to your A6 Allroad look great, but they hamper the handling and contribute to increased road noise at high speed. Some drivers have reported excessive wind noise on the motorway, too.
Equipment
Unsurprisngly for a big Audi, the A6 Allroad quattro is an extremely comfortable car. Inside, every model has standard heated leather seats, plus Audi’s MMI infotainment system with sat nav. Once you’ve used the keyless access to get in, the leather seats provide a great balance of comfort and support, while the switches, controls and surfaces are all up to Audi’s very high standards.
There’s also two-zone climate control and a 180w, 10-speaker stereo, which comes with Bluetooth and MP3 player connections as standard. Elsewhere, hill-start assistance and parking sensors make for a stress-free driving exerience in town, while the air suspension offers a smooth and comfortable ride, effectively absorbing nearly all bumps and potholes. The interior is well insulated from engine, wind and road noise, too.
A higher-spec Sport trim was introduced at the end of 2015. It adds full LED headlights with high beam assist, 19-inch alloy wheels, privacy glass, heated and folding mirrors, an upgraded leather, SD card navigation, the Audi Music Interface, powered tailgate operation, the Audi parking system plus and four-zone air-conditioning
