I thought I would be getting premium brand quality with Audi, but since coming out of the 4 year warranty I have been constantly getting faults. The dealership is generally very good, and I am pleased with the performance of the car, if it was not the fact that it was unreliable and the Audi customer service did not answer the phone in a timely manner (despite my call being important to them) I would buy another one. But the faults are as follows: 1. Faulty air con 2. Faulty engine management 3. Faulty rear indicator (intermittent fault) 4. Faulty wing mirror and indicator unit. I accept that things go wrong, but with this number of faults I would expect Audi to be more proactive in maintaining the value of the brand, through good customer service and a good process of redress.

An excellent car all round, great drive, styling and interior. The car has plenty of power and and the gearbox is smooth when driven sensibly and more than responsive when pushing on. 187 bhp and 380nm is a lot to get out of a 2 litre diesel but it shows no signs over being over worked or strained. The only problem is that this combine with the auto box might have contributed to the cv joints going at 45,000 miles. The car returns 60mpg on a decent length motorway run at 70, 50mpg at 80mph and gets, thirsty after that. Not sure what it would do at 50 or 60 but I suspect it would be close to the published mpg of 68. All of these figures are off the DIS but they seem very close to the figures i get tank to tank. I'd say that 45mpg is about right for me and that will be 2/3 urban and 1/3 extra urban driving.

In many ways the car is superb and a significant improvement on my 2007 A6 Avant which I ran for 6 years. The engine and gearbox are its major plus points as too is the build quality and comfortable seats/ride quality. I should love the car but I don't! It's the niggles that for me mean after less than 2 years into a 4 year deal I'm looking to change. No. 1 niggle is that after 40,000 miles I just can't get the climate control to deliver both the temperature and distribution so that it just does its job. I'm still fiddling. The position of the main centre console air vent means that when you need cooling air it blast freezes your wrist which prevents air reaching your head/upper body zone. I've resorted to closing these vents and putting on the front screen demist constantly, which is just a joke. It's nowhere near as good as my 2007 A6 and this factor alone would prevent me buying another one. The second, significant problem is that on the SE model, the standard headlights on dipped are so underpowered as to be dangerous on unlit country lanes. The latest models no longer have these headlights. The third significant factor is that the claimed fuel consumption figures are horrendously over-exaggerated. On paper, 55mpg over my old 40mpg would give me a monthly saving in fuel of £100 plus, and was a key factor in purchasing. In reality, it returns 1-2 mpg LESS than my MY 2007 model. If Audi were honest about MPG (they are not alone) then at least we'd know. If they had stated 40 average mpg then I'd have still bought an A6, it's the deception that has added to the frustration. Conclusion: A great car in many key areas, but badly let down by the climate control (yes, its that poor) and the lights.

Purchased car 3 months old with 7k on the clock. Now done 40k in less than two years. I have no major complaints and really enjoy the car. Servicing is expensive, but lasts for 20k miles. Very relaxing to drive, relatively economical, although not as advertised. 8 speed gearbox is a dream and incredibly smooth. Good space front and rear & boot, although not as big as E Class. Worth getting large screen MMI. Controls are a bit fiddly at start with lots of buttons, but they are easy to get used to. Recommend persisting with voice control as this is great! Would highly recommend this car!

Really reliable car. I moved to an Audi because it had a larger rear bench to accommodate car seats. I simply couldn’t squeeze three children into a 5 series. Overall I’m really impressed. Economy is quite poor considering mine has the most economical engine on paper. It’s also sluggish until motorway cruising speed which I guess is what it’s designed for. SatNav is also not up to BMW standards. I do 40k miles a year and it hasn’t skipped a beat. Feels bombproof and I plan to get another A6 when I replace this but it would have to be the 3.0 tdi.

Completely and utterly disappointed with this prestige vehicle. Two major issues: - 1. Awful Sound System despite having a high specification. 2. AdBlue system - 6,000 mile range then £85 fill up at Audi dealer. Extensive research was done before ordering my new A6 company car. BE AWARE that there are TWO levels of standard sound system, but the brochure only details ONE, and all the dealers are blissfully unaware of this oversight. All the demonstration cars are fitted with the higher spec navigation system which is where the problem lies. The standard sound system supplied with the upgraded navigation system is good, but there is no documentation to differentiate between this (standard high) system and the system that is supplied when the standard navigation system is fitted. The 'standard standard' system is absolutely awful, to the point that it is more pleasant to travel in silence. If you question any Audi dealer, they will be adamant that there is no difference between the sound system regardless of navigation specification. Summary of Sound System - not fit for purpose. AdBlue is an exhaust cleaning system that is being fitted to some modern diesel vehicles. The brochure only makes tiny mention of the fact that 'the AdBlue tank may need re-filling between services' whilst going into detail about servicing schedules and the distances that can be covered if regular motorway use is common - 18,000 miles. My AdBlue warning light came on at 5,300 miles which means it will need re-filling THREE times between services. The AdBlue tank on the latest vehicles has been reduced to 20 litres giving a maximum range of 7,000 miles. The vehicle has been rejected with Audi Finance (who it is leased through) and they are insisting that there is nothing wrong. AUDI - VW Group vehicle(s) - NEVER AGAIN RATING - ZERO despite having one star, the table wouldn't allow ZERO Next stop, BBC Watchdog! I average 1,000 miles per week and this vehicle is completely unsuitable for my needs despite extensive research before selection.
