Well, where to start! It is true that there are faster, more modern hot hatches out there but none are as fun. I've just had my ST3 serviced (12,500 mile intervals) after 9 months. It's worth mentioning that for the most part I walk to work as it's only 15 minutes away, I only take the car if I need to go and and about on the odd day. This car is that addictive, what doesn't help is I live on the doorstep of some very good driving roads and I honestly have a hard time not spending every waking moment going up and down them. The OEM tyres, Bridgestone Potenzas, are a very good tyre. I have had to replace the fronts at the service (over exuberant cornering), choosing PilotSport 3's and they've taken the car up another level, turn in is quicker and wet grip is phenomenal. I have had no problems so far, I knew the manufacturer fuel economy figures, as with all makes, are complete nonsense, it's an unrealistic test that also allows cheating. That said I have achieved over 60mpg on the motorway, or around 50mpg with normal motorway driving. Around town it's very frugal but the moment you hit the throttle get ready, bye bye economy! This car goes from drinking like a lady to a full on Saturday night session but the same can be said of any performance car, power comes from burning more fuel so it's only to be expected. It's the way that this car can go from cruising to hair on fire that surprises me still 3/4 year down the line. Find a twisty road and I guarantee you this car would make anyone smile. This car is that good that I quite genuinely think that it should be offered on prescription by the NHS. The seats are great, the suspension takes a bit of getting used to but if you're going to use it as designed then you can forgive it this. If you're not then get something else, you'll only see it as an irritation and in my opinion the car would deserve a better owner.

I downsized into this car after reading the rave reviews in the motoring press. Although it's a small hatchback, there is plenty of room for the kids and the weekly grocery shop and it's easy to park and manoeuvre with good visibility. So that's practicality ticked. More importantly the car is an absolute joy to drive with brilliant handling and well weighted, communicative steering that provides plenty of feedback. The 1.6 engine is docile around town but bursts into life when you give it the beans. It revs and accelerates linearly right to the red line where the exhaust note is roarty without any unwanted boom in the cabin. It also picks up well from low revs and it isn't long before the turbos spoil up making rapid progress easy and without much turbo lag making the engine extremely flexible without the need to change down too often. I am averaging 38 mpg but most of my journeys are quite short. The economy improves on longer journeys making it perfectly comfortable for cruising even if the ride is a bit firm but no more so than any BMW on run flat tyres. The interior is fairly standard except for the Recaro seats which are extremely comfortable and hold you firmly in place no matter how spirited your driving. The dash is rather convoluted and at first you do wonder how on earth you find a DAB station but as another reviewer has mentioned, you do get the hang of it quite quickly. I went for the ST3 and so the heated seats (not sure if they're standard on the ST2) are very nice, sat nav, keyless entry and start are very welcome spec. Since I bought the car, I've had the Mountune MP215 upgrade together with Mountune intercooler, charge pipe, high induction hose and exhaust which don't affect the vehicle's base warranty and make an already brilliant standard car even better which is hard to believe but true. It puts a smile on my face every time I drive it and it attracts quite a lot of admiring attention. I would only change my car for a Fiesta RS which it doesn't look as though Ford will make but if I have to keep my ST, I'll be a happy driver.

Had this ST for 7 months. Love driving it. And in spirit blue when polished is the only colour I would have it in. At first few months drove it slowly to get the consumption. But this car needs to be unleashed. It loves quick bursts. Throwing it around corners at speed you feel safe and secure. You do not move in the Recaro seats. I have had no problems so far. Build quality is superb. And being a British built engine have a lot of confidence in it. It sounds awesome. The slick shifting gearbox is a delight. Once you test drive this car, there is no doubt you have to own one. Looking forward to spec up to st 3 in 5 months.

This car is simply the best hot hatch that money can but I liked it so much this is the second Fiesta ST I have bought. It offers almost drawback free motoring , cheap car tax, decent price, outstanding handling, great power for a small car, great on small trips or long, 40+MPG on long journeys. A real eye turner as they are rarer than Focus STs and people stop and look at them, I love this car and Ford have created a masterpiece with this car and was well worth the wait to have one for the price you won't be disappointed in fact you'll be blown away. BUY THIS CAR IF YOU LOVE HOT HATCHES!

Chris Harris got 0-100 in 15.4 secs in a Mountune ST and it feels like it. This car pivots about it's centre and wags it's tail if you provoke it correctly. Where anyone gets 38mpg I don't know - driven with enthusiasm on a B road you can easily get this in the 20's. Overall I'm at 32mpg after a year and that's on super unleaded. And a pair of front tyres at 7.5k miles. BUT on top of the fun and performance, Ford have thrown in a very useable and habitable hatchback that makes it a perfect second car for me, and I'm sure a perfect primary car for those without children. Many more thousands of pounds on far more exotic machinery doesn't guarantee any more fun folks.

What a car the Fiesta ST is! I test-drove one 18 months ago and just had to have one and I am 42 years old! I had the mp 215 kit fitted from new and it truly is a little pocket rocket. The handling, brakes etc are truly epic . Still jump in the car on go driving Just for the fun of it almost every day and never get boring. Will go down as a all time great hot-hatch. Ford has worked its magic on this car. If you haven’t test driven one go and do it you won't regret it for a second .

One hell of a fun car. It loves being driven hard and feels faster than its quoted 0 to 60 time of 6.9 seconds. It looks fantastic in 'Frozen White' and value for money is fantastic. On a motorway run it will do 40 mpg and around town around 30 but you'd expect nothing less from a hot hatchback. I love the seats, they're very sporty and even though the entertainment system might look dated the rest of the car makes up for it. I've never enjoyed driving a car so much and even though it's a firm ride the overall feel makes up for it. I highly recommend this car at this price point; it's pretty fast and looks good.

The car is absoulutely amazing, it's amazingly quick for 180bhp, handles amazingly well and the exhuast note is just right. It makes a beautiful sound, but isn't roaring when doing low-speed 'eco driving'. It genuinely puts a smile on my face every time I go for a drive. If you are buying the car i would suggest the ST 2 or ST 3. The leather heated seats, which seemed like a novelty to me at first, are an absolute treat and something I would struggle to live without after being spoiled. Having sat nav and DAB radio for me are also essential. The daytime running lights... well, I guess they do pretty it up a bit. I've done around 2,000 miles and the only things I can discredit it for is the stiff suspension. When the car first came and I drove it on my road (a bit bumpy) it felt as if I was driving a car on coil-overs with wheels made of stone. However, the more miles I did the more it softened up. The suspension is still firmer than your average car, but doesn't cause any discomfort. The leg room in the back isn't too great, you'll have a fun time trying to fit five fully grown males in there for a long journey. But apart from that the car is faultless. The interior is very nice and given a great presence by the massive Recaro. The multi-buttoned dashboard looks quite the challenge at first site, but is ever so simple and effective once you get used to it ( which took about a day). The car for me is perfect and i would recommend it to anyone!

Great car - press reviews are right to rate this. Can be driven as normal small hatch [slightly harsh ride] but performance is fantastic and you simply want to keep driving it. Great Recaro seats, crisp gearbox and lovely sharp steering. Paid for sat nav which is super apart form small screen.

Superb car since day one! Haven't covered 2000 miles yet but the car is everything that I'd read about it in the various reviews. Superb handling coupled with excellent performance. For a car of this type I'm pleased with 40 mpg average so far and I guess that servicing costs are going to be reasonable too knowing Ford. It's amazingly tractable in town driving too. One thing that's not mentioned in all reviews is the extra 20 bhp available in a twelve second 'window' when in turbo overboost! Ford can't advertise this fact as it's only a temporary performance figure; fantastic! All I can say is that if you're in the market for a performance hatch do try one of these. You won't regret it.
