I love my Ranger. This is the 4th one I've had over the last 10 years (2.5, 2.2, 3.2 old shape and this Wildtrak 3.2). I continue to buy them because they have all been totally reliable! I do a lot of little journeys and 2 or three times a year it goes to the south of France. The Wildtrak is by far the best on a long run, it returns about 35mpg and is so quiet and smooth at 80mph (French motorways of course) you can whisper to the passenger next to you. Everyone who has travelled in it is surprised at how smooth and quiet it is. The interior with all the gadgets is great. Heater blower is a little loud, but even turns itself down when a phone call come in. The sync 3 is brilliant. The finish inside is a great improvement on the older model. The dash is superb. I have had it just 12months now, its not given a minute's problem so far. Things I dont like: It's heavy on juice round town, at 18\19 mpg. Its also very noisy for the first couple of minutes on a cold morning. The gearbox is also slow to change until it warms up. I didn't like the look of the front grille, so put the Raptor style on it. The front lights are not the best, and daytime running lights are very poor. I have replaced them with LED units by the fog lights. Beside this, I would say it's a brilliant pickup, I intend to keep this one for a good few years now. I love it!

Do not buy one of these, this is a horrendous vehicle. It worked ok for the first year but since then the electrics have gone mental, there always seems to be a light on the dash, the oil pump went destroying the engine, abs sensors are plaguing me, intercooler has now gone and Ford customer service has been non existent

Bought this new. Actually px'ed a 2014 Toyota Hilux . What a nutter this truck is. The worst I've ever driven. Brakes pull to one side sometimes, the steering is all over the show and gearbox is terrible. It has loads of extras but give me the Hilux any day ChrisH 09/12/2016

Looks ok but even though the car has a lock on the spare wheel it doesn't stop it being stolen with ease. Several of us have leased the cars from Ford but have all had our spares stolen from the Park and Ride in Cheltenham. The problem is that Ford puts a full size spare alloy under the car that professional thieves can clearly remove with ease. They retail at about £350 to replace although you can find cheaper replacements on eBay (funny old thing). If you have the option, go for a steel wheel, as it won't get pinched, or at least it is less likely.

Initially a great vehicle but thirsty engine now holed a piston at 45,000 miles ford don't want to know as out of warranty by 5 months,I discovered a design fault was found by Ford themselves. And engine changed in 2013 this is a commercial vehicle but is not up to the job quality wise and engine not up to pulling the car along. Also a very notchy gearbox.

Through work I get to use all the models of pick up but do find the Ranger the better to drive , the last pickup I had was a Navara and in honesty I would have happily replaced it with another but for the fact the dealer in our town closed which would mean servicing would become a 40 mile each way hassle , mine is the 3.2 and according to the computer it is doing 29.8 mpg which I am happy with as I do not treat it with kid gloves . The only real downsides I have found so far is the tailgate height which seems a lot taller than the Nissan so not as easy to load and unload my gear and I did like the way the rear seats in the Nissan would fold up and lock giving a nice flat load area , with the Limited you get a nice spec interior and it seems well put together , all in all pleased so far

You get what you pay for £23k+ vat with roll bar, sat nav, phone, heated seats, electric seats, reverse camera, leather seats and much more. You can't beat the value for money Why not go and buy another German car from the world's best salesman [it sounds like a golf] where you have to pay for every extra? People are so stupid as they believe German cars are better, you pay more in the first place so you tend to service and look after them more. I own a Porsche with 15000 miles and the build quality is terrible, fault after fault.

This is the second 3.2 Wildtrack I have had. This time I went for the full off road package and the auto box. This version is a serious bit of kit, great off road, also brilliant on the motorway. It's super quiet at 70-80mph. At 70mph the engine is idling almost only 1800rpm! The build quality is excellent and if you look underneath the frame and the axles they have used are more land cruiser like than hilux. Last one covered 160K for work and private mileage never had a single problem. Hard not to see why this is now the most popular ute, bakkie and pickup in the UK, Australia and South Africa. Ford Australia have designed a superb truck it has knocked out the Toyota Hilux and the Landcruiser in one swoop and left the Japanese manufacturers scratching their heads and having to resort to sh*t postings in the comments sections... I will buy another one for sure. The 3.2 is the best engine. If you tow you know.

Knocked out nearly 40,000 miles in 18 months and has been fantastic. Great both on road and off. Went for a 2.2-litre to get a better mpg. Specced with sync 3, reversing cam and sat nav it has all the tech needed. I’m a service engineer and can get all my kit in it without any issues. Does 36+ mpg on the motorway. Not too bad round town either. Only bit that isn’t amazing is the industrial gearbox but it’s still way better than a French van's. Been off-road many times and even with standard tyres it’s been excellent. Will no doubt be going for another again next year.

The ride was good for a pick up, power was reasonable but both the transmission and fuel economy are rubbish. I also heard turbos eventually give problems as well, especially when driven fast frequently.

I've had this Ford Ranger Wildtrak for six weeks, now at 7,400 miles and the car spends most of its time towing three-tonne machinery. I have three little bugs with the car that are quite annoying. The ignition barrel isn't lit up, neither are the electric mirror switches that are hidden out of view behind the steering wheel. There are also no front parking sensors. However, the biggest bug is the AdBlue system. I have used around 60 litres of it already. The warning system for top-up comes on with 1,700 mile range left, which is around three tanks of fuel. I have topped it up and each time it has taken three days to correct itself. As a result, every time the ignition is turned on, it bongs at you and orange light on dash also stays illuminated. The pickup could also do with a fully adjustable steering wheel and a better heater (although the heated seats are a godsend). UK-spec Continental tyres might as well be made of Marmite so I swapped out for Geolanders. I will keep you posted if any other issues occur.

Probably the most unreliable vehicle I have ever owned. It has 10,000 miles on the clock and has needed twelve trips into the main dealer with electrical faults. If you're thinking of buying the truck on looks only then go ahead. If you want a reliable, decent 4x4 forget the Ranger. It will disappoint.

Purchased a new Ford Ranger Wildtrak less than six months ago. I currently own three Isuzu Pickups but decided to opt for the Ford Ranger Wildtrak as it was a better drive. Big mistake. The Wildtrak has now been off the road for four weeks due to an issue with the Turbocharger. The latest update is that I've got at least another 4 weeks to wait before the parts will be despatched from Germany. We currently have a hire vehicle but it's not like for like. I wouldn't buy a Ford Ranger Wildtrak again given our experience. Meanwhile, my Isuzus have given three years of trouble free motoring.

I bought mine brand new in 2016 and part-exchanged a Hilux against it. Big mistake! The Ranger is the worst pickup I have ever owned. It has a clunky gearbox, the engine misfires, sometimes when you park up get a strong smell of burning rubber. The driver's side door rubber seal actually rotted – I showed the dealer and it tried to charge me £150 to replace it. When I told them about the gearbox's clunky gear change they said "that's what they're all like". If driven on a bumpy road it wandered all over the place, but Ford could find nothing wrong with it. I've sold it now, glad to see back of it. I've now bought a 64 plate Hilux Invincible, it's a different class all round.

I've had the same problems as most of the people on here, the engine is very noisy on startup especially on cold days, it rattles like marbles in a tin until it’s warmed up. It’s hesitant from cold at low throttle, too. I've had low tyre pressure warning lights on even after having tyres replaced and new sensors fitted. The tyres had to be replaced after just 10k miles, they were worn out on the inside edges. The engine has switched itself off for no reason at idle a couple of times, which is alarming as it doesn’t have a stop start system. I've had a £2,000 hard top fitted by Ford; it leaks badly and all they say is ‘ they all leak, it’s a common thing’. The headlights are appalling, too – it really needs HID lights.

I bought the vehicle to replace a tired Land Rover Defender, overall I would say it is a decent pick up. My main use for it is trailer towing, pulling heavy loads and this was why I opted for a 3.2 manual. The fuel consumption is one mpg less than the Defender achieved, but travel is more comfortable and it's probably slightly quicker. It does feel quite safe when towing, there's no trailer sway and plenty of braking power. Its off road capabilities are quite good in 4 high but low box is a pig to engage or disengage. if your off road work entails traversing rutted gateways or rough ground, buy a Defender as a Ranger will ground out and need a tow, but it's a decent work truck generally, if you want a truck for what they are designed and built for. Don't buy one for motorway work and then moan about fuel consumption or ride quality. The only real problem I've had so far is that the battery doesn't seem big enough to cope with all the electrics and having then to start the 3.2-litre engine from cold .

It's a really good looking truck. Sadly that's the only good thing I have to say about my very pretty shiny truck. I don't know where to start really, however they are mainly reliability issues, with a few added moans and groans about comfort and build quality. I opted for the 3.2 as on test drive of the 2.2, I found out it's performance was really poor. I previously had a 2014 Mitsubishi L200, and it went really well, so that's what I judged it on. So my 3.2 goes ok, bit noisy though, and not too refined, but Ford told me the economy would improve, and the engine noise would settle once run in properly. It was an ex demo, so I'd have thought it was partially already run in with 3,000 on the clock. So on the way home I noticed it was pulling towards the curb. Then, 1,000 miles later the turbo went. Then the intercooler went. Then I had the engine management light come on on the dashboard, caused by a faulty sensor. Then I noticed the front tyres were wearing badly on the edges after 4,000 miles. The dealership has taken about 7 weeks in total to fix these issues, and time is money. No truck means no work, so I've rented transport at vast expense whilst these issues are being looked at – notice I said looked at and not worked on. Other minor issues are a harsh ride, poor interior,alarming rattles and creaks when going over the odd bump, and the fact that it's really poorly equipped unless you get a fully loaded ex demo or put your hand in your pocket. But on the plus side, it's a really good looking truck.........

Lease-hired two for the business. Nothing but problems from the start. Both vehicles pulled to the side. After several attempt by Ford at correcting the tracking we are still wearing out front tyres after around 8k miles. Faulty fuel sender had to be replaced due to incorrect readings and causing us to run out of fuel. Turbo on one went which then required an engine replacement (under warranty) it took the main dealer over three weeks to repair it. No offer of a courtesy vehicle, no feedback. Cost us nearly £1,000 in replacement vehicle hire. Recently the turbo inter cooler failed on the other. Ford not interested as it was 2k over the warranty mileage. Same vehicle, a brake pipe failed causing the calliper to seize. New calliper, discs and pads!! Also required a new battery after 2 years. Total non caring attitude from the main dealer! Totally would not recommend.

Just picked up a new Limited model. It seems to be great, smooth on-road and great off-road. Boot space is good, only downside is that the seats in the back are still a bit small. Other than that nothing to say - a much better car than my old 2012 xlt 2009 model. If you're looking for a pickup it's a no-brainer, take the Ford, it's the best there is for the price .

Wildtrak 3.2 auto full option. Great truck driving it everyday to work and sometimes some light off road stuff. Now 50,000km. No engine problems, had one time warnings about sensors not working after going through 80cm water, the garage fixed it in 15 minutes. Slight minus point is the fan /ac making more noise than it should.

I researched all current pickups, as I was after another 4x4 to supplement my 2007 Ford Ranger Thunder 2.5-litre TDi. I decided for the Ford Ranger Limited 2 4x4 (67 plate) with the 2.2-litre Euro 6 rated engine. I spent a good few minutes familiarising with the workings of the electronics and the Sync 3 Infotainment Centre. My mobiles paired well and it has fast voice activation for phones, heating, music, navigation etc, all worked well. Hill descent control is excellent plus the option button to turn off the start/stop system, electronic 2 to 4h and 4l is extremely smooth with no clunks etc, apparently 2 to 4 high wheel drive can be engaged on fly between 0 and 60 not that I am in a rush to try it at speed. The engine growls if accelerating a bit firmly at lights but once up to speed is extremely quiet especially at 70mph on motorways. On some occasions I found myself glancing at the right hand display looking for the little green arrow reminding me to change up! The reversing sensors/camera are very accurate and the button to fold/unfold the large wing mirrors is very handy. The gear change is a bit "notchy" but there is no free play. Acceleration from 0 keeps up with traffic and is reasonable to get to 60 and easily keeps up with traffic on A roads. Unladen ride can be "choppy" at low speeds on some A and B roads but once laden with a full tank, on motorways or with some weight in the back smooths out very well (passengers have fell asleep). This type of ride though is to be expected. Overall I think Ford have done well and is big improvement over my 2007 version (103k on the clock). Counting the miles and fuel I put in I am getting 38-40 mpg combined although the onboard computer tells me it is a bit less, 35mpg with steady legal driving. Scrolling through the right-hand menu I found one which surprised me namely about the oil and how many more miles I should do before it should be changed. Trailer sway assist is also useful too. Hopefully mpg should improve as bits bed in.

A nice pickup, when it works. We have two 2017 examples, both have had recurring electrical issues which re blamed on wiring but that wiring repairs and recalls haven't fixed. One has been in 5 times for faults in 18 months at three different garages. On one occasion it was in for 3 weeks due to an adblue fault and the garage only progressed it after we sent them the bill for a hire car. Ford mechanics don't seem to know anything about Rangers. It is a nice pickup, good off road, solid on the motorway and comfortable with lots of equipment, ours are leased but I wouldn't buy one with my own money.

I bought Ranger after carefully consider it with its rivals such as Amarok and Toyota. First of all, Ford is famous with its durable and massive trucks and I have to admit that I used it under very hard and rough conditions and I am very satisfied. The engine doesn't have any problems coping with the massive body. We towed nearly 4.2 tones with the Ranger and had no problem occurred. It is the cheapest yet most sophisticated car in its class. You should not expect comfort from it as we use it 18 hours in a day and the Ranger is not exhausted at all. Go for it. It’s the most durable and tough car you can ever find it. Don’t pay much attention what is been written before me. Because most of them don’t use this car really bad conditions like me. They don’t know much of its ability in construction and mining sites.

Apart from good looks the vehicle performance is poor. Not as good a 4x4 in comparison with other pick ups. It's also one of the longest pick ups currently so can be awkward to park and manoeuvre. It spends more time in the garage than on the road and it's only 1,5 years old! I experienced a number of minor faults from faulty wheels , electronics to gear box malfunction. The frustrating thing is that Ford care services could not care less. For example to fix a dash board light malfunction it took them 20 days ! On one occasion it was a faulty fuse and they did not even check the circuit. It simply sat there for 3 days returning back to me faulty. I had to find the fault myself and replace the fuse. Our leasing company also don't want to know or help despite their contractual obligation. From my experience you'd be better using Hilux (also Toyota are much better at customer services by far) or Amarok at least VW own up to their mistakes.

Very poor build quality, the panel gaps around the front of the vehicle are terrible, not one of the front panels is straight with another. None of the doors shut properly, sometimes they close in one go, sometimes you have to slam and slam them 4 or 5 times, it's very frustrating. The engine clatters like an old tractor until it's been running for at least 5 minutes, we have had tyre pressure sensors failing - twice - even though it's less than 5 months old. The "support" from Ford dealers in non-existent, they really don't know anything about customer service and they don't care about anything except getting you to sign the paperwork, we bought new so we wouldn't have vehicle problems but that was a vain hope. Even the bluetooth connectivity is intermittent, it's like a Lada in terms of build quality and I will never consider a new or used Ford ever again.

Terrible fuel consumption. Nothing remotely near advertised and anything over 30mpg is completely unachievable. I've had mine from new and so far has had a persistent misfire which the dealership cannot resolve. Customer services have washed their hands of the situation and I'm left with a badly running vehicle and no support. Add to that, it's a rusty brute of a thing. Not a good experience at all.

Bought this ex-demonstrator from Vospers in Exeter. 3k miles on the clock, 6 months old. Within 3 months it was hesitating in 3rd gear - virtual mis-fire. They took it back twice, the second time for 1 week, but couldn't find the reason for the "hesitation". Put it down to "characteristics of vehicle". Also other niggling faults with towbar, rear bumpers, trailer wiring, etc. 3 weeks ago, when vehicle less than 2 years old, and covered just 31,000 miles, hesitation again, which became a major mis-fire. AA diagnosed dropped valve. No help or support from Vospers. Sent it to Yeovil Ford who promised to look at it "next day". In fact 8 days elapsed before they looked at it! No support from Yeovil Ford. In desperation, 4 days after the breakdown I got in touch with Ford Customer Care who said if it is a mechanical failure they would under-write the cost of a hired replacement. This I organised - a Toyota Hiluxe. Not as powerful, not as agile, not such a good interior, not the same towing capacity. We now await a new engine which Ford have sanctioned. But no additional warranty on the new engine, so I shall be parting with this vehicle before the warranty expires. Just 3 years and 60,000 miles. Isuzu offer 5 years and 125,00 miles. The Ford Ranger is a great truck to drive. Very powerful and sure-footed. I regularly tow at 3.5t and the Ranger has taken it all in its stride. As for another, I'm not sure. Let's get this one back on the road and see how things work out. But Ford dealerships? Utterly deplorable.

I have had nothing but trouble with this pick up. Wheel bearings, rear diff, rust, water leaks, 2 windscreens, tyres being shredded on the front and the most recent engine faults that are not leaving a fault code! The truck is one of the nicest pick-ups to drive, but the problems have by far outweighed this. Over the last year and a half I've covered 90k miles, and spent 19K on fuel as it only gets 25-28 mpg. The other more serious issue is the Ford service, from silly faults at the start i.e. not being able to get a replacement tyre in the first week of purchase after I hit a pot hole driving back from Scotland, because there was none in the country yet, to the more serious lack of interest from the staff in general. I would recommend that you think long and hard before purchasing.

Been driving for 50 years and had many different cars but the driving characteristics of this car are better than I've ever experienced. Not only are the seats the most comfortable to sit on but the range of adjustments including drivers lumber support and heating (including on your back) are amazing (How many motoring journalists comment on that!) The research and design team who came up with Ford's first WORLD CAR deserve a medal. Only negative is the lack of torque. Otherwise overall it will be hard to beat.

I really looked forward to picking up my new Ford Ranger Wildtrak 2019 model. First month I loved my new toy. The engine light came on. Diesel fumes in cab. Computer and technical issues. Dealership haven't yet resolved issues. Dealership customer service as appalling. Deeply disappointed that a new vehicle should be unfixed 10 days on and counting. The worst customer service in 40 years of motoring. Things go wrong but you look after a customer that just bought a brand new vehicle that is only a month old.

I've never written a review before, this Ranger is complete heap of junk. From day one it's had so many faults I would take hours to list them. The dealer I bought it from was 100% useless so I changed to another. These were very helpful but after a while they got fed up when I contacted with another fault. The latest one is that the air-con unit has seized up. It had a new, wiring loom new intercooler, new sensors on the brakes and so on. I had two Rangers before and they were both good, as I would expect. This has been a disaster and the LAST ford ever I will have. It is a pity as the Ranger is nice to drive when it is going, I never know if to bring it home at night or leave it at the Ford dealership for another repair.

My shiny Ranger Wildtrak displayed engine warning light and adblue malfunction 30 minutes after delivery, Yes my brand new truck has been in the dealers for repair ever since day 1 and they don't seem to care or be in a rush to fix it. The after care of Ford is the worst I have ever experienced period. I am paying for a vehicle that has done nothing but cost me money in lost business and finance payments. I have now been given a courtesy vehicle so instead of the top of the range wildtrak that i'm paying for i'm driving around in a bottom of the range Ford connect and to make matters worse it's advertising "Trust Ford" all over it.

It's a brilliant vehicle to drive, a perfect driving position is easy to achieve and it feels like nothing will stop this beast moving. I carry half a tonne in weight everyday and often pull a box trailer but it drives with ease and with none of the fuss. The fuel economy was to be expected but i am a little disappointed in the gear box! Its clunky and requires a little getting used to! Overall I'd recommend it, however I think I'd go for the automatic next time.

This is my second review. At 75,000km I mentioned I had the EGR changed but the car was still not working properly. After several visits to several Ford dealers, I finally got the problem resolved. It was the torque converter was the cause of the problem. I learned it's a very expensive part and to change it they needed to take out the gearbox. Fortunately the car is still under the warranty period but I am worried for the consequences. Due to the inability of the Ford service people to find the problem I was forced to drive the car with this problem and apparently the transmission was affected as torque converter manages the fluids in the gearbox. So I intend to sell the car fast and to go for a Toyota Landcruiser. I had a test drive yesterday. My Ford is much better in many aspects when its working but I need a reliable car. Both car and Ford brand disappointed me big time.

I've been driving for 37 years. First as a long range sales rep in the UK and Europe driving the ubiquitous and much loved and lamented Sierra, then out here in Africa in the courier industry driving Ford Courier pickups before going into management driving luxury front wheel drive saloons. I've probably driven on every type of surface known to man and in every known condition, from frozen lakes in Sweden to wet clay here in Africa. For my mid-life crisis, I had my heart set on a Focus ST, but my wife and grown up kids rebelled and begged me to make a more sensible choice. And I am so glad I did. My 2.2 litre turbo diesel Supercab Ranger is quite simply the most incredible vehicle I've ever owned, and that includes high end Mercedes and Volvos. It just does everything perfectly, reliably, and with no fuss at all. Whether it be with a huge double axle caravan on a 1000 mile journey, or carrying loads of over 1000 kgs over really rough and / or slippery terrain, or simply taking t'missus out for dinner, it just does its job perfectly every time. The 6 speed automatic box is a dream, and the air conditioning is more than a match for the harshest of African heatwaves. I've seen very many posts here complaining of unreliability, but the feeling I get is that most people only post when they have a problem. You will always get lemons, no matter what the make. I now have everything I ever wanted in one package. Rear wheel drive, diesel, automatic, great performance and fuel economy, commanding road presence, go anywhere, tow anything. What more could one ask for? PS, can it wade? Yes, mine is only a 4 x 2, & with diff lock on I've waded through water over 1m deep.

This is my second Ranger and I'm disappointed that Ford has gone backwards. Firstly, why takeaway the storage under the seats? You put the jack under the seat and leave the smallest amount of space so can only get 2 small ratchet straps in it. Secondly, why take away storage space behind back seats? I can't even carry a first aid kit now. Ford decided to move the bulkhead forward, Which you can't really make use of as its framed by the rest of the bulkhead completely useless. I had the 2016 model and wish I stuck with it, as if you buy the 2019 model don't expect any storage space it's all gone. Hopefully this model isn't going to be recalled 3 times.

Beautiful truck to drive when working properly. It comes from the factory with the wheels misaligned, therefore it destroys tyres if you do not check your wheel alignment right after purchase. Number 2, it does not brake properly. We have the tech inspection to do each year, last time, with new disks - it failed to pass the test twice. Number 3, at 75000km my EGR stopped working, it has been replaced but the cars does not work properly. The people in Ford tell me the car is good because the computer does not show any problem but the car is not working properly, there are continuous interruptions coming either from the engine or from the gearbox, nobody could tell in two visits to the shop. I was very excited so far but now I need to search for alternatives, Ford Ranger is just an unreliable workhorse and the dealerships are worse.

Very pleased with the new style Ranger. Very comfortable on journeys, it averages 36 mpg with the towing rear axle (the reduced tow capacity rear axle would give better fuel economy). The intercooler failed at 70,000 miles, but it's still drivable. After waiting six weeks for replacement part from main Ford dealer, ordered non generic but identical part from independent and fixed within 24 hours. The Bluetooth phone connection is intermittent. It's good looking apart from naff 4x4 stickers, which were removed during my first 24 hours of ownership. 100,000 miles is coming up and I'll certainly consider another, but competitors offer better warranties so may move elsewhere, as main Ford dealer service was very poor.

I loved this car, until the gearbox died after 14,000 miles. Ford assist were terrible in recovering the vehicle and have still not resolved the issue after 4 weeks. I've been waiting a whole month to get it back, a failed gearbox within 8 months of ownership is terrible, as is ford customer service. I'm buying a Hilux next week!

I love my Ranger! I guess any kind of review generally tends to be prompted by people having a bad experience. As such, I would urge readers to take negative comments with a pinch of salt. For my part, I've been thrilled with this vehicle. Key features I love over the competition: Styling - new entrants (Fiat, Mercedes in particular) have done a great job on the styling front, but the Ranger still gets 5 stars from me. The Wildtrak has one of the most car-like interiors, which good detailing and reasonable materials for a pick-up that needs to be comfortable, as well as hard-wearing. Looks great inside and out. Driveability - it's smooth, quiet and easy to throw around. I would recommend the auto gearbox (I took the manual) and go for the driver pack for added safety and joy. It grips well and is extremely comfortable - non-stop trips to Dublin, the Alps and Nuremberg have been very pleasurable. Load capacity - well, it's a pickup, but with one of the best towing abilities in its class, it's got perform (and it does). Toughness - check out any YouTube video where the Ranger is compared with the competition and 9/10 times, the Ranger comes out on top. Ford have really upped their game with this to ensure they stay on top. Reliability - so far, I've had no issues. A few points that I would like to draw you to, though – the brakes could be stronger. The Ranger is a heavy vehicle and the brakes don't really seem up to the job, especially with a load. Either upgrade these or give yourself a little extra room. The interior heating seems to take an absolute age to come through on a cold day. My Mini will be toasty warm in under five minutes, but the Ranger can take more than 30. It's something I need to talk to my dealer about as it doesn't seem right. The 3.2-litre is certainly thirsty around town (I average around 18mpg) but on the motorways it's actually OK and I tend to average around 35mpg. Still, if you want more, go for the smaller engine, or consider the L200 (and variants). Make sure you go for the Euro 6 version too. Also, if Apple Play and Google are your thing, then you'll need the Sync 3 system which is also more responsive. Sync 2 is still excellent but I wish I'd held out a few more months and waited for the upgrade. Overall, I can easily recommend the Ranger and would be happy to buy again.

I pre-ordered the Ranger with every extra that they had at the time. It did take 9 months to come in but was totally worth it. The It drives well in all conditions and the gadgets that are on it with the extras we had are really good. Just a shame it's not a little closer to the American F-150's.

My last review was regarding engine failure from the Vospers demonstrator. I got it back after 42 days off the road. Ford refused to pay my full replacement hire costs of £1800, instead offering me £1300. Eventually we compromised on £1400 although I still await the payment. Then over the past few days the engine has been running very rough, loss of power, with oil leaks developing and yesterday I pulled out the dipstick and fumes and oil were being pushed out by the engine. So I took it back to Yeovil Ford who suspect another broken piston. Off the road again, I hired Toyota Hilux. Very complacent attitude from dealership a Ford UK.
