I bought this car with 28,500 on the clock. I was first attracted to it by the looks. The Sportbrake looks far better than the saloon and has the advantage of better rear headroom and a better ride thanks to the rear air suspension required for self-levelling. The ride is very comfortable and the road holding and steering are excellent. Niggles include the slow to respond screen display and poor navigation graphics. These have since been improved on the latest version. The 2.2D engine is a bit old hat and has significant turbo lag but you soon adjust for this when pulling out at a junction or roundabout. Rear brake pad life is poor. Mine have been replace twice and the last set did 14,000 miles. The 8 speed ZF gearbox is excellent if you use the paddles when it is reluctant to shift down as quickly as I like. The nearside front door central locking mechanism failed at 38,000 miles but was covered under the extended warranty. Too many annoying rattles from the dashboard. After owning an Audi A6, I would say that the build quality could be improved. Love the cargo space and the electric tailgate - very handy. Mine has 18" alloys and 245 section tyres which I think helps keep the ride / handling balance acceptable. Most of my driving is urban so the overall 34.8mpg figure is not too bad. Big improvement on the 27 mpg I was getting in a BMW 3 series with the (lovely) Straight six 3 litre petrol engine. Fiddly thumb wheel to set the cruise control - but, again, this has been improved in the latest model. Local Stratstone dealer excellent for service. the car is always returned valeted to a very high standard.

This Jaguar is the car I always wanted : Good looking, spacious, comfortable, Luxurious, fun to drive, smooth. Not that I can use its full engine power on British roads! So far, I did not have any issues whatsoever. Hope this continues. The consumption is honest for this type of vehicle. There is no better option when you are looking for an alternatives to the German.

This is the 3rd XF The First was a saloon but was replaced as it had 3 different colours of paint The 2nd was a Sportbrake which had 3 major issues: Electrical power loss/drain loose oil cooler and the major issue which was the reversing camera guidance lines froze on regular basis after 6 goes at fixing I had it replaced at a major cost to me and now the replacement after 4 weeks has also got the same issue with the camera freezing. This is only one problem but there are 4 more including the rotating air vent broken!

This truely is the worst car I have ever owned... from day one there were problems: Clunking noise from rear of car - apparently fuel slapping in the tank??? Broken Drivers Seat Hole in pipework to turbo, causing the car to go into restricted performance - i was overtaking another car at the time when I lost all power Mpg is nothing like what jaguar state - 31mpg if I am lucky Paintwork is of poor quality and easily marked When I ask the main dealer if I could return the vehicle, I was told that it was NOT possible and they would have to investigate the faults. I wouldnt expect to be having faults on a brand new car...

Easy on the eye, excellent finish and more economical than reviews have suggested. I'm averaging over 43 with circa 50 mpg on motorway runs

It is like a true sports car with the advantage of a SUV for carrying goods. when you push it in sport mode and use the manual shift it is quick, But if you like a cruise it will return a good 50mpg

Best car I have owned. No problems, services by local garage (not dealer) Looks great, drives great, 3L diesel is wonderful. ONLY problem - Jaguar no longer make it! I will probably go to Merc. next time as I would not want a 2L and the V6 is now too expensive.

Was frustrated by my first Sportbrake, a 2.2D Luxury that was too noisy and not quite comfy enough even though I do a mix of short journeys and long distance trips. I have had the 3.0D for a year now and it is much closer to what I wanted/hoped for. It is quick, comfy, spacious, has been reliable apart from two parking sensors failing (and being replaced under warranty). The local dealer has acted swiftly. Overall it has been a good experience so far.

There have been a couple of warranty items, the adaptive cruise control radar sensor failed and the rear plastic bumper has been re sprayed to colour match the rest of the car. Both items dealt with under warranty. The dealer was a little slow rectifying the faults but at no time was the car unusable. It is otherwise a great car, comfortable with a very good auto box and great acceleration. Changed from a BMW and do not regret supporting a car built in Britain by British tax paying workers. It is the patriotic choice.

Exchanged from a Passat cc to Jag estate as needed more room for luggage on long trips expected to be made after retirement. Excellent quality inside and out, good driving position and very comfortable in towns and on motorways. Excellent reversing camera for parking such a big car and thats pretty easy too. Love the interior goodies, heated seats, stereo with 360 watts and a good sat nav system. Fuel economy over 10000 miles average 48, terrific for a large and heavy car.Thought old car was good this is terrific, so pleased I finally moved to a Jaguar.

This vehicle was purchased used, in late March 2016 with 13000 miles completed . Its first owner, purchased the car September 2014 , sadly deceased, had ensured the service was completed, his widow stated that he was very happy with the vehicle. To date the vehicle is reliable, surprisingly economical for a large estate car, always returning 40 to 50 mpg, and on motorway driving well over 50mpg ! Comfort levels are comparable with the C class Mercedes , Lexus, BMW s and Vauxhall Carlton owned previously in all respects, except the intrusive diesel engine- in manual mode it is reminiscent of the 2.4 turbo diesel Alfa Romeo 156.

This car was a Jaguar management car and just a few months old when I bought it. So far there have been two happy days of ownership - the day I bought it and the day I sold it (today). The nearest Jaguar dealer is three hours away so each trip has involved a full day out and a wasted day. In the 2 years there have been 11 such days and many of the issues are still unresolved which is why I have sold it. Within days the dash screen failed, then a couple of weeks later the GPS system failed, then various creaks and rattles appeared, then I came out of a shop and the boot was open and wouldn't close, then the dash screen died, then the brakes started making awful noises, then the pump for the rear suspension started making a grinding noise, then the engine developed a rattle that sounded like a petrol engine 'pinking' - it goes on........ Latterly the engine sounds like a pertrol engine pinking and the front brakes make a grinding noise when going round bends and the offside fornt suspension/nrakes have a rattle so loud that people turn and stare when driving along. The 'master technician' at Jaguar must have hearing issues as it has been back twice as I am fearful that something important might drop off or fail yet he can 'hear nothing unusual'. This is a shame as it looks great and the power and handling are superb but I will never have another Jaguar even if they were giving them away. I am picking up my new Audi today and will be able to put my ear defenders away.
