I just love it, before this car, my dad used to borrow me his Jaguar XJR 1997 and since I met the British touch, well I just fell in love with the Jaguar XJ series, now yes when I say British touch I meant the British touch in Jaguar but I do not say that I might not buy someday a new Range Rover in the Autobiography series.

The x300 (xj6) was known for its reliability since ford bought jaguar over they are relatively simple for diy. Parts are easily sourced through breakers for easy money

It does things adiquately but not well - computer slow to react to comands, satnav laggs behind the car, car gets moved around road by the road surface - tram lined, can't read the clock at night as no illumination on fingers ! Hard disc cd takes 15 mins to copy one cd, the electronics are all very slow !

A real step up from the equivalent XF or the previous XJ (much better dynamics). Sporty yet fairly light on fuel consumption with truly gorgeous steering and handling. And the looks? - exquisite from the outside and really beautiful and engaging within.

Having previously been the owner of several prestige vehicles that include BMW, Audi A6 Mercedes S & GL class and Range Rovers I decided to opt for my most recent purchase being a long wheel base Jaguar XJ Portfolio. The car is an absolute pleasure to drive, refined quiet and extremely powerful. It's fully loaded with many optional extras which all come in useful and more importantly all work. A truly well built and one of a kind British icon.

Fantastic car delivering performance, pace and grace. Very well designed modern feel unlike s class or 7 series. Packed with extras - one to buy is xjl with the extra legroom very comfortable for all. Only issue is entertainment system crashing with phone causing the problem which freezes system which left over night will flatten battery. Only other fault was the car shutting down round a bend when rear suspension warning light came on in red which meant no power steering and car became very heavy to steer and control.

Bought car 2nd hand 12 months old with 1600 miles on the clock from Jaguar UK. Arrived as new. From the start this is the best car I have ever owned. It's a joy to drive, I agree you are not as cocooned as in an s class but it feels as though you are connected to the tarmac when the s class can feel a bit isolated. It's easy to position and the steering is quick and precise. It's quick enough for me - sport settings and manual gear changes give you the chance to feel engaged but auto is pure waft. Its certainly frugal compared with other large cars I have owned. The interior is a lovely place to be....leather and more leather and a wrap around feel that makes you want to be there. The virtual instruments are the best I have ever encountered. It's possible to read them in bright direct sunlight and I cannot see why other criticise them. The audio is excellent, 20 speakers do their bit to bathe the passengers in uncluttered pure sound. It's possible to enjoy the music and hold a conversation at the same time, such is the cabin soundproofing. I never travel in the back preferring to drive but my passengers have all commented on how spacious the car is. It's the long wheelbase variant and if I had this much room on a plane I would be delighted. A friend of mine is more than 6' and he fits in the back without complaint. More than 6' and head room could be an issue. My only slight gripe (if any at all) is the satnav. It's not intuitive, poorly designed, gives too much information and difficult to set......(I can work a video!) The car has radar controlled cruise control and this is fabulous. Takes a bit of getting used to but on mindless motorway journeys it feels like you are cheating. Headlights that steer round corners are a revelation, the extra steering lamps are so useful on country lanes. I would mention that the rear facing camera for reversing is essential. Visibility out of the back is poor at best but the parking aids make it possible to park as any other car. I'm sure many of the features are common on many large exec cars these days but try one, you will not be disappointed. You may even feel you are helping to fly the flag to some extent. Did I mention the dealership? I was not pressured into buying the car, no unwanted phone calls after my first enquiry. The car sold itself. I have never felt so valued as a customer and nothing is too much trouble. Might be my dealer, but others with Jaguar cars have told me they feel the same. I do not regret buying this car for a minute.

XJL as bought from showroom at aged 8 years old. It has been six months since I owed it. I felt Lexus LS 430 & the Lexus LS 600h would be risky in Scotland in case it needs repairs we have main dealers Lexus Branches in major cities in Scotland. The Range Rover / Jaguar group seems to be very well known in Scotland for repairs if needed those can be investigated by Scottish garages far more than Lexus LS. The new style Jaguar XJL D V6 is therefore indeed noticeable to the public they appear to like it. Apart from the restricted performance light that comes on for to reason. And the DPF yeah the tax con? big money. And to top that there was no spacesaver spare wheel and wheel jack. Setting all that to one side. The XJL comes with great leather and the two sunroofs and leather surroundings leather steering wheel aircon great music ballace all round this new Jag is very eye catching indeed. The long wheel base is a problem parking in Aberdeen. There seems very little problems with the car. Shame regarding the DPF however this can be resolved.

This car is everything i had hoped it would be. I like cars which are individual, that's why i have chosen an older car which i then had some restoration work done. I'd looked at mercs and bm's but they were so innocuous. These jags have a great classic shape, drives superb and handles like a dream. Even a trip to the supermarket is enjoyable, and there just isn't an affordable new car on the market that in anyway fits into what i want in a car.

I do not suppose any one will read this but just in case This is the first jag i have bought for about 25 years.It Is quite outstanding in every respect.All The gadgets work. Driving the turn in is remarkable and the ride ir perfect and the fuel economy silly good in fact it is all so brill that i gone and sold it and purchased a xjr. Now this is a proper car. I am so glad that jaguar finally after all these years are producing something that 10 year old might lust after. Toodle pip J
