Comfortable car even with the 19" wheels. Fuel has been 30mpg over 5,000, miles not bad considering mainly town driving. This car has all the extras you could want, heated front and rear seats, ventilated front seats, pan-roof, sat-nav. I even love the heated steering wheel (don't knock it until you have tried it). Add in the 7 year warranty and there's not much that can touch it for value for money. Forget the talk about hard plastics on the dash etc. I cannot think of anyone who spends time stroking the dashboard. If you do, the phrase get a life comes to mind. The only negative has been the DAB radio, I am on to the second one, don't waste your money as it's not good.

Exceeded virtually every expectation. I came from a 2009 mercedes c180 into the kia and i was slightly worried about the badge. That fear was abolished in a matter of days. My brother who drives a bmw 320dm coupe secretly admitted to friends that my car is "great" but he could never tell me that!

Its brilliant the best car i have ever owned. The dealer was very helpful. This is the first car i have never had to take back to get the dealer to sort out a problem unlike my ford's mitsubishi of the past.

Use it for towing twin wheel caravan, excellent. Great driving position,plenty of room inside. Lpg makes it comparable with diesel on costs. Good alround view, but suspension a little firm. Very smooth engine and great gearbox for towing, has overdrive.

I bought this car for it's pulling power, and it has not let me down. It is comfortable to drive easy to handle and sure footed on the road, overall an excellent vehicle.

The 7 year warranty is not worth much, had a degraded badge, agreed by the dealer turned down by Kia. Had problems with the sat nav from new, Kia dealer said they couldn't find it until it became serious then they told me it was only a 2 year warranty and a replacement would be £3400! Was due for change of car so have bought VW Tuareg, don't go near Kia!

The seven-year warranty is not worth a light. I complained about the failure of the sat nav system from new and was told they could not fault it. After 3 years the dealer said I needed a new radio unit/sat nav – it only had a two-year warranty and a replacement cost £3400. Also, the Kia badge in the car had degraded, this was accepted by the fitter who photographed it for Kia to see, Kia refused it under warranty. The reversing camera failed. I broke the door mirror and the quote from the dealer to fix it was £700. I then went to the recommended Kia bodyshop, the repair cost £80 and the parts were from the Kia dealership.

I had this car for nearly 2 years now. An excellent car, very good, comfortable, having plenty of options included & really spacious for a big family(7 seats). I'm happy with the fuel economy, especially on the long runs. The best I've got was around 45mpg, but that was resetting the trip computer before a log run on the motorway. The average goes around 42 and in the winter getting just under 40 mpg. It is a strong car, comfortable drive feel, safe with nice day lights LED & nice imposing look. I wouldn't get a German car just for their name. Their warranty is around 3 years leaving a big gap in the customer service & the wallet as well. So, I'll totally recommend this car to anyone interested in a solid & reliable car but with a fair price, still.

Superb car for the money. Much better than my company car (BMW X3 auto). Comfortable, easy to drive, spacious and reasonable economy for a vehicle of this size. Equipment is generous for a vehicle in this price band. Just wish that the fuel tank was a bit bigger as the range on a full tank could be better, especially when towing the caravan.The 7 year warranty is also a class leader. Would have gone for the more expensive version but the sunroof robs the headroom - especially as I'm 6' 3". The KX2 Sat NAV has virtually all the kit that you would need however.

Having been used to a top spec BMW 520d, I wanted a reliable car to tow the caravan, cope with bad road conditions and have a long warranty. The spec is very high, the quality is good and I am very pleased with the car. The engine noise and power is better than my 174bhp msport BMW! I have lost confidence in German cars, with many problems including a new turbo at 60k costing me ££. The only problem is finding a good Kia dealer. The first one was useless and didn't return my calls to arrange a test drive and when I went in, they said it would be difficult as they only one Sorento which their manager used. The next dealer was OK but they even they were not brilliant and the car had damage when we went to pick it up. I think Kia need to address dealer customer service. But at the end of the day, it is a great car.

Although there have been unexpected problems with the handbrake, water pump and (most expensively) the aircon, i have been very satisfied with my sorento, towing a heavy caravan to the south of france as i do. Kia repairs can be very expensive - £600 was quoted to fix the water pump but a good independent sorted me out for £160 including parts! There was a similar story with the aircon, still expensive at £600 as it needed a compressor and auxilliary fan but much less than my kia dealer's quote.

This has been a great car. I have an excellent dealership in Derby, NK Motors who are knowledgeable, helpful, and as reliable as the car itself. The Nexen 8000 tyres as standard fit did a remarkable 32,000 miles, and two are still legal. I have switched to Vred' Winter extreme which are a mud and snow tyre, as things get a bit sticky up here in the winter. The tyre is truly excellent in the wet and I plan to leave them on in the summer at the recommendation of the tyre specialist. On the plus side the car grips well, drives well and is quiet at motorway speeds. It is comfortable on long journeys and is easy to drive. Seems to handle 2ft of water with ease too. The panoramic sunroof gives a light and airy feel to the cabin which is a bonus. The seats can be both heated and cooled in the summer which is excellent on those long summer trips out. At low speeds the diesel is a bit noisy but so was my Audi A8 so no complaints there. The auto box makes really smooth changes and the tyres have a profile which puts enough rubber between rim and road to make lumpy roads acceptably comfortable and avoid pothole damage to tyres or rims. This car is a true 7 seater, and as such is really good value for money. My son said the same about his Kia Sportage too, but that's another (good) story!

If you are looking into buying a Sorento, be aware of the terrible fuel economy (lawsuit is already in place with consumers - there's your proof). I get around 16-18 miles per gallon driving highway. THIS IS A FOUR CYLINDER! Customer service is pretty brutal (mind you this is dealership specific). However, they are just enforcing Kia's warranties, so ultimately this is on Kia. Have a good look at exactly what their warranty offers IN DETAIL. You will understand that purchasing domestic is better than foreign. Domestic is bumper-to-bumper for the duration of the warranty. Foreign picks and chooses when to end every little bit of warranty along the way. Even though it is five year/100,000km vs three-year/60,000km, I would stick with the three-year warranty as it is much more comprehensive. Totally unimpressed with the vehicle. Only thing I enjoy about it are the heated seats.

Bought my Sorento as an ex-demo to replace my Rover 75 diesel tourer. Initially disappointed with the mpg, being heavier on fuel than my son's LR Discovery, but this has improved greatly now the engine and transmission has freed up somewhat. Vehicle was bought to tow my Bailey caravan, which it does admirably, although on the road no better than the Rover. The dealer in Essex I bought the car from was not brilliant, with poor customer care and broken promises regarding the deal. However, have found in stark contrast, Canterbury Kia to be exceptionally good. The car absolutely lives up to what I expected. It is quiet, handles well, very comfortable, well appointed, well screwed together and stunning to look at. As it is the "new" 2013 model, I have found it difficult to obtain side steps to fit, but eventually found a supplier who had the relevant steps for this model. These proved to be ideal but mudflaps are needed to prevent road debris being deposited on the steps. It would benefit from having twin clutch instead of torque converter transmission, DAB radio, and a better SatNav. Otherwise a thoroughly good SUV.

The 7 year warranty is useless and covers very little. The radio and sat nav aren't working and they're out of warranty after 2 years. The cost of replacement is £3,500. The badges are degrading, they're not covered and are classed as wear and tear items. The leather also wears very quickly and looks very bad. If you want quality, try the Touareg
