Porsche Cayenne SUV (2011-2017): owner reviews

“The Porsche Cayenne blends the attributes of a 4x4 with the performance and handling of a sports car, but those traits don’t come cheap”

It is amazing - like driving a sports car, but you are so high up - love it!

Probably the best car I have driven but also the most unreliable . It's 18 months old and we haven't had a clear 6/12 without a problem . Starting with a faulty alarm on delivery followed by a lock down 6/12 later . A hair raising steam up on the motorway as the car was leaking and full of water . All of which was very annoying but compounded by very poor after sales . Now back in for further investigation on the turbo charge alarm .

What a super car does what it says on the tin. Had Range Rover Sport not in the same class on build quality. Drives great.

So much better than previously owned X5 models. Smoother, quieter by far more economical, just a pleasure to drive.

Having owned and thoroughly enjoyed a Cayenne diesel 3 years ago I was looking forward to the arrival of the S eHybrid this week. The build quality is still superb and the styling improved on the previous models. The additional tech that the S eHybrid introduces seems to have added a complexity to the instrumentation and controls that is rather disappointing. Where the diesel was intuitive and helpful it now feels clunky and hard to get around. The battery-only range is around 15 miles which is pretty useless and, despite claims, acceleration feels OK at best. The worst aspect of the car though is the compromise that right hand drivers get with the PCM screen and chrono clock in the centre of the dash angled awkwardly toward the passenger seat. This cost cutting really makes an expensive car in RH drive format feel compromised.

Had a V8S before - this one is nearly as fast and way better fuel economy. Put in comfort extras like AS and best seats. Extraordinarily comfortable as a long distance traveller that can cover ground quickly - we do 500 mile days in it on mixed m'way and twisty overtaking roads. All this plus loads of room for luggage, bikes etc - and carting furniture around. Excellent on snow and ice with snow tyres. Easily matches new range Rover.
