The defining attribute of the Skoda Yeti is the superb interior practicality that its boxy shape provides. Its wide dimensions make it vast inside and it's made one of the most versatile cars on the market by the clever Varioflex rear seating system.
The big, wide windows and high driving position mean visibility is excellent, plus it’s easy to judge the car's extremities, making it a doddle to park.
Skoda Yeti interior space & storage
In addition to the big boot described below, the Skoda Yeti has plenty of handy storage areas dotted around inside, including a decent-sized glovebox and handy hanging hooks in the boot to stop loose shopping bags rolling around when you turn a corner.
Head and legroom is good for four adults, but the large transmission tunnel means the unlucky passenger in the middle rear seat doesn’t really have anywhere to put their feet.
Boot space
The boot of the Skoda Yeti is impressively large, even with the rear seats in place. There’s 416 litres of luggage space, which is a little more than you get in the Nissan Qashqai and simply cavernous when compared to a conventional hatchback family car such as the Ford Focus. In fact, it’s 100 litres bigger with the seats up and a whopping 659 litres larger with them folded flat.
The innovative Varioflex system means that each individual rear seat can slide independently to give you more knee or luggage room – or be removed entirely to turn your Yeti into a van.
Towing
The Yeti is a great tow car, particularly in diesel 4x4 form, when it can pull up to 2,100kg braked or 750kg unbraked. Even the least powerful two-wheel-drive petrol model can manage 1,500kg braked or 660kg unbraked.
