Volkswagen Eos convertible (2006-2014) - Reliability & safety
The build quality of the Volkswagen Eos is particularly impressive
Volkswagen has a generally good reputation for reliability and the Eos uses many components already tried and tested in other cars produced by the VW Group.
Volkswagen Eos reliability
The quality of the materials used in the cabin is extremely high, so the Eos feels solidly built. The car has proved unlikely to develop any major mechanical faults, but there have been a few complaints about minor issues with the car’s complicated folding roof mechanism. Everything else should prove resilient, though, and all the engines have been tried and tested in mainstream Volkswagens like the Golf hatchback and the Passat saloon.
Volkswagen Eos safety
In crash tests by safety body Euro NCAP, the Eos was awarded four out of a possible five stars, which is average rather than class-leading – but the car does come equipped with driver and passenger airbags, traction control and pop-up roll bars that release instantly if the car turns over in a crash.
