All-new Jeep Wagoneer S is UK-bound with 593bhp and over 300 miles of range

New Jeep Wagoneer S takes on the premium electric SUV establishment

  • All-electric premium SUV
  • 593bhp and over 300 miles of range
  • Coming to the UK in 2026

This is the all-new Jeep Wagoneer S, the latest contender in the electric SUV arena. It’s the second electric vehicle from Jeep to be sold in Europe, following the popular Avenger small SUV. The Wagoneer S is an entirely different proposition, residing at the premium end of the market with a greater focus on luxury and performance. It will compete with rival German SUVs, such as the new Audi Q6 e-tron and the upcoming BMW Neue Klasse X, when it goes on sale in the UK in 2026.

What does the Jeep Wagoneer S look like?

Jeep is proud to point out that the new Wagoneer S is its most aerodynamic model ever, with a sloping roofline and plenty of design details helping it to cut through the air with minimal disturbance. That said, it’s still a large car – on par with the Range Rover Velar and Mercedes EQC for size – with boxy proportions typical of the American brand.

Up front, you’ll find a modern reinterpretation of Jeep’s classic ‘seven-slot’ grille. As there’s no big engine to cool under the bonnet, the grille is purely for style, with ambient lighting to illuminate it at night. At the rear, a bold roof spoiler works with flush door handles and underbody cladding to guide air around the body, improving aerodynamic efficiency and therefore, improving range.

What about the interior of the Jeep Wagoneer S?

Step inside the Wagoneer S and you’ll find a new generation of interior design with more tech than any Jeep before it. Dominating the dashboard is a trio of screens, with a 12.3-inch display for infotainment sitting centrally above the climate controls. The driver gets a 12.3-inch screen in place of a traditional gauge cluster, while the front passenger gets a 10.25-inch display of their own.

While that all sounds very futuristic, Jeep hasn’t forgotten about traditional premium touches, either. A black ceramic-coated aluminium is used for the various haptic controls dotted around the cabin, along with metal trim and soft-touch upholstery for the doors. What you won’t find in the Wagoneer is leather – Jeep has opted instead for a palette of recycled materials for the seats and dashboard.

What about the Jeep Wagoneer S specs and performance?

The Wagoneer S sits on the STLA Large platform from parent-brand Stellantis, the heart of which is a large 100kWh battery. All models come with dual motors to enable four-wheel drive, although the front motor can disconnect when it’s not needed to improve efficiency. Jeep claims a range of “over 300 miles”, which, while not specific, appears to lag behind the Audi Q6 e-tron and its 360-mile range. Find a public DC rapid charger, and you can top up the battery from 5-80% in 28 minutes.

Performance for the launch specification model will be sure to give rivals something to think about. The twin motors generate 593bhp, enabling a 0-62mph sprint time of just 3.4 seconds  – quicker than the old V8-powered Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk. Sport mode will deliver maximum performance, but drivers can also choose between Auto, Eco, Snow and Sand modes via the Selec-Terrain traction management system.

How much does the Jeep Wagoneer cost and when can I buy one?

While the Wagoneer S will launch in its home country later this year, we’ll have to wait until early 2026 to get behind the wheel. UK prices will be confirmed closer to that time, but a starting price in the region of £80,000 would stack up against rivals.

The Wagoneer S is entering a hotly-fought market – read our list of the top 10 electric SUVs to find out which is best…
