Kia Sportage family SUV for £257 a month: Hot car deal

Our hot car deal for May 14th is the ever-popular Kia Sportage at just £257 a month

Kia Sportage drive front quarter

Kia is on a bit of a hot streak at the moment, particularly with its impressive range of all-electric models such as the EV6 hatchback, EV9 seven-seater SUV and Niro EV. But let’s not forget the South Korean manufacturer’s family car staple: the Sportage. Clearly, many are still aware of its SUV merits, because the fifth-generation model continues to sell by the bucketload and currently sits as the third best-selling car in the UK behind the Nissan Qashqai and Ford Puma. It’s not hard to see why; a great combination of interior space, useful onboard technology and decent comfort make the Sportage hard to resist, while its excellent safety kit and reassuring seven-year warranty complete a very tempting package.

What’s so good about this Kia Sportage deal?

This two-year deal from Applied Leasing lets you cover up to 5,000 miles a year with an initial payment of £3,079.20, then monthly payments of £256.60. There is flexibility to either extend the length of the agreement or adjust the annual mileage allowance, but you will end up paying more. For example, increasing the agreed mileage to 10,000 miles per year means you’ll pay £288.70 every month, with an extra £385.20 added to the deposit amount.

The GT-Line trim brings a good level of standard equipment, including 18-inch alloys, LED headlights, rear privacy glass, front and rear parking sensors, smart cruise control, three-zone climate control, a heating function for the front seats and steering wheel, and a 12.3-inch infotainment screen with integrated sat-nav and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.

Power comes from a 1.6-litre self-charging hybrid petrol engine, producing 212bhp via a six-speed automatic gearbox. 0-62mph takes 8.4 seconds, while you should find average fuel economy hovering around 51mpg across a mixture of roads.

What’s so good about the Kia Sportage?

The Sportage is a genuinely eye-catching family SUV that easily fulfils its brief of providing practical daily transport. Efficient hybrid engines, impressive levels of standard equipment and plenty of onboard tech help it stand out in a particularly competitive mid-size SUV market, while at just over £250 per month, the numbers stack up, too.

Anything else I need to know about this deal?

This is a lease deal, often referred to as Personal Contract Hire (PCH), so there’s no option to buy the car at the end of the contract. You are effectively renting the car for the two-year term, but the deal is very flexible so you can adjust the term length, mileage limit and initial payment size to suit, but only at the outset. Once the deal is over, you just hand the keys back and start looking for your next car.

Our hot deals are carefully selected by our car buying experts and they are all subject to change. Always read the full terms and conditions and make sure the car and the deal suits your needs before proceeding.
