Never ever buy Mazda, since I've bought this one all I've had is problems. My Mazda has DPF on it and it doesn't matter how many miles you do, the DPF filter will get clogged and will cause engine problems. I know a lot of people who have Mazdas and they all had problems.

Electric window switch failed and Mazda dealer unable to mend. DPF warning light came on - dealer simply reset as there was no problem Getting the front wheel alignment correct was beyond the dealer, sorted in 10 minutes by National Express

We got this car from my in-laws and was such a bargain it would have silly to turn it down. We have been most please with it. We are a family of 6 and have found it very easy to live with, plus it handles well enough for me to enjoy driving it.

Practical mpv. Could have been better with some of the equipment levels, i.e. cruise control was not an option at that time of buying.

It would be a fantastic car if; A) it didn't have a bodged dpf "system", B) the suspension had been properly aligned on delivery, C) i hadn't lost faith in the dealers with their "they all do that" attitude - get mazda to fix it then!

DMF very expensive to replace lasted only 3 years. headlights need replacing due to brackets which secure bulbs broken, unable to buy clips headlights £250 each Front tyres wear to quick ,Pipes at front of car corroded brake fluid holder leaks (plastic) Electric coil to replace very poor on electric problems. All shock absorbers replaced twice. Cigerette lighters both not working Electrics poor, Must have been put together on a Monday morning

This is the worst car I have had for reliability compared with previous older Mazdas. Items like wheels , shock absorbers, have all had to be replaced. My previuos 12yr old Mazdas have never had this problem.

It's mostly used for commuting to school but also family holidays 600 to 900 miles each way with 5 adults plus luggage. The car's good to drive, quiet and comfortable, very practical and has never had a problem. There's no traction control and it's a little too easy to spin the front wheels in 1st gear without a bit of practice (petrol version). I also changed the fitted Dunlop tyres for Pirelli winter tyres which were great on a winter trip to Scotland and seem grippier, more comfortable and quieter than the Dunlops even in summer.

Amazed by its practicality - its also reliable & looks modern - could do with more power & gives 90% of sports car fun for 20% cost of 'real' sports car. It did goodwood & lemans tracks within two weeks without missing a beat - fantastic

Disappointing. Great for transporting 4 grandchildren under 6. Expensive to run - poor fuel economy, expensive tyres and expensive services. Road noise makes it almost impossible to hear the radio. Appalling in snow.

Just completed 87,000 miles this month. The car is totally reliable and never let us down. Serviced once a year being the only cost other than tyres. The front wear quicker but for our driving changed every 20,000 miles. Had problems with dangerous spit and worn Dunlop tyres early days but changed to Michelins and solved the problem. When I found the tyre problem I entered into a long diatribe with Mazda UK and found them in total denial and unsympathetic. The DPF filter is a pain if you only use the car for short journeys. I have found driving a few miles at 70 keeps the filter clean. As the general condition of the car is good and still reliable I see no reason to change and intend to continue to run this car for significantly more mileage until problems force a change.
