Today’s hot car deal: bargain electric MG ZS for £213 per month

Our hot deal for 1 December gets you a long-range electric car for less than its petrol equivalent!

If you’re weighing up whether to go petrol or electric on your next lease deal, then this offer from LeaseLoco could make the decision for you. Right now, the online broker has an electric MG ZS EV for just £213 per month – almost £60 less than a like-for-like petrol version!

What’s so good about this MG ZS EV deal?

It’s widely acknowledged that electric cars cost more to buy than their petrol alternatives, but every now and then, a stellar deal comes through that puts paid to that notion. This is one such example: LeaseLoco is offering the brilliant MG ZS EV – in top-spec Trophy Long Range spec – for considerably less than its petrol-powered sibling.

The price quoted above is for a two-year deal with a 5,000-mile per year cap, but even if you double the limit, you’ll only pay £255 per month. That’s a fantastic offer for a fantastic EV that’ll cost peanuts to run if you can charge at home on an off-peak electricity tariff.

You’ll need to fork out 12 months up front (£2,565 on the 5k-mile plan) but after that you’re all set. The deal even includes roadside assistance should the worst happen. The offer is for in-stock cars, so you shouldn’t have to wait long for delivery, either.

What’s so good about the MG ZS EV?

The MG ZS EV is a previous Carbuyer New Car Award winner, being crowned Best Family Electric Car for 2023. At the time we said: "MG has nailed it with the ZS; a practical, efficient and well-equipped electric car with room for the whole family." That sentiment rings true today.

The ZS’s boxy body not only offers a welcome dose of SUV style, but all the practicality family-car buyers so desperately need. There’s room for five inside, plus the big boot will swallow the weekly shop with ease.

LeaseLoco is offering the lower-spec SE for around £10 less per month, but we’d spend the extra for this flagship Trophy. Doing so gets you 17-inch alloy wheels, touchscreen sat-nav, heated leather seats and privacy glass, as well as climate control and smartphone connectivity. It really does have all the kit you could ever need.

Featuring the biggest 72.6kWh battery, the MG ZS EV Trophy is officially capable of 273 miles on a charge – and we’d expect easily north of 220-230 miles in normal driving. It’s punchy, too; the 156bhp electric motor sends the SUV from 0-62mph in just 8.4 seconds.

It’s not as good to drive as the newer MG4, but many buyers will be happy to trade that dynamic edge for a bigger and more practical car. The ZS EV will tick a lot of boxes for a lot of people, so if you fancy one, don’t hang about!

Anything else I need to know about this deal?

This is a lease deal, often referred to as Personal Contract Hire (PCH), so there’s no option to buy the car at the end of the contract. You are effectively renting the car for the two-year term, but the deal is very flexible so you can adjust the term length, mileage limit and initial payment size to suit. Once the deal is over, you just hand the keys back and start looking for your next car.

Our hot deals are carefully selected by our car buying experts and they are all subject to change. Always read the full terms and conditions and make sure the car and the deal suits your needs before proceeding.
