New Fiat 500L MPW revealed
A seven-seat version of the Fiat 500L has been added to the stylish 500 range
The Fiat 500L MPW has been revealed – a new seven-seat version of the Fiat 500L.
Building on the practical 500L people carrier, the 500L MPW gets a 5+2 seating formation, with an extra pair of small seats in the boot. While they’re not full size, they should be big enough for children.
As well as the extra seats, the longer 500L MPW offers a massive 638 litres of boot space with five seats in place. Boot capacity in the less practical 500L is just 343 litres, while the baby 500 city car makes do with just 185 litres.
From launch, the Fiat 500L MPW will come with a choice of two petrol and two diesel engines. Petrol options comprise a 94bhp 1.4-litre and a 103bhp 900cc turbocharged TwinAir, while the 1.3-litre and 1.6-litre diesel engines offer an impressive blend of performance and running costs.
The range comes in two specifications, Pop Star and Lounge, and both have lots of standard equipment. All cars get air-conditioning, electric front windows, cruise control and a five-inch touchscreen radio. Top-spec Lounge models add automatic lights and wipers, climate control, alloy wheels and a panoramic glass roof.
There’s a host of personalisation options, too, including funky interior trim colours, pastel-coloured paint and even go-faster stripes. Buyers can also pick from 15 different wheel designs and six upholstery options.
Prices are yet to be announced, but expect the Fiat 500L MPW to command a slight premium over the five-seat 500L, which starts at £14,990 for the 1.4-litre Pop Star.
