Volkswagen Tiguan Match revealed
New VW Tiguan Match adds £700 worth of equipment for £450 less
The Volkswagen Tiguan Match has been revealed, offering buyers more equipment at a lower list price than the Tiguan SE it replaces.
Prices start at £23,245 for the Tiguan Match 1.4-litre TSI petrol, which is £450 less than the equivalent Tiguan SE. It gets £700 worth of extra kit though, including touchscreen sat-nav and 17-inch alloy wheels. Bluetooth connectivity is standard, as is DAB radio and a multifunction leather steering wheel.
In addition to all this, all cars get separate climate controls for driver and passenger, and folding picnic tables on the back of the front seats. Front and rear parking sensors are included, as well as an innovative self-park system that will parallel park the Tiguan in a space just 1.1m longer than the car itself. The rear seats fold 60:40 and come with ISOFIX child seat fittings as standard.
The basic car comes with two-wheel drive, but for £1,685 you can opt for 4MOTION four-wheel drive for improved performance off-road and in adverse weather conditions. You can also buy a 2.0-litre TDI diesel with two or four-wheel drive, with prices starting at £24,440. On this model, four-wheel drive costs £1,770 extra.
Faster 2.0-litre TSI petrol and 2.0-litre TDI diesel models are also available, with the option of manual or seven-speed DSG automatic gearboxes. The top-of-the-range 2.0-litre TDI 4MOTION DSG costs from £28,740 and will do 47.1mpg.
Available to order for 7 August, the Volkswagen Tiguan Match replaces the outgoing VW Tiguan SE in the current line-up. It is Volkswagen’s smallest SUV and sits below the larger VW Touareg, which starts from £38,160.
