Jeep Compass 2014 revealed
A new facelifted Jeep Compass SUV has been revealed, featuring a range of new equipment
An updated Jeep Compass has been revealed, and is available to order from Jeep showrooms now. The refreshed model gets a new six-speed automatic gearbox, as well as a range of new equipment for 2014.
The new Jeep Compass comes in three specifications: Sport, the new North version, and the top-spec Limited version. Engines include a 161bhp 2.2-litre diesel, a 2.4-litre petrol with 168bhp and a 2.0-litre petrol that gets 154bhp. It’s available in black, white, silver, blue, ‘Maximum Steel’ and ‘Granite Chrystal’ (top-spec models only).
A new six-speed automatic gearbox is available for the 2.4-litre and 2.0-litre petrol engines, which Jeep claims has been designed to improve performance by making smoother gear changes.
Styling updates on the new Jeep Compass include a new grille and alloy wheels for Limited models, extra chrome trim, new taillight and headlight designs and a new badge design. Interior updates include new grey leather seats for the top model, new-look dials and a chrome finish on various dashboard sections.
The new Compass gets more safety equipment as standard, including airbags mounted to the front seat as well as front, side, curtain and rear airbags, stability control, ABS, rough-road detection, hill start assist and a rear-view parking camera for Limited models.
The entry-level Sport model is front wheel drive only and includes 17-inch alloy wheels, roof rails, air-conditioning, heated door mirrors, keyless entry, folding rear seats, cruise control and an MP3-compatible stereo as standard.
Move up to the North model and you get tinted sunscreen glass, an auto-dimming main mirror, a leather steering wheel, Bluetooth, USB and a 6-CD changer. The top-spec Limited model is equipped with leather seats, 18-inch alloy wheels, heated front seats, a 6.5-inch touchscreen, a 40GB hard drive for your music, automatic air-conditioning and a rear parking camera.
