Special edition Kia Picanto Quantum gets extra kit to set it apart from the standard car
The special edition Kia Picanto Quantum is now available to buy from Kia dealers across the country. Unique looks and extra gadgets set it apart from the standard Kia Picanto, with prices starting from £11,895 for the manual and £12,495 for the automatic models.
Available as a three-door car only, the Kia Picanto Quantum is covered in titanium silver metallic body paint on the outside, whilst black leather upholstery adds a premium feel to its interior.
The Kia Picanto Quantum gets Kia’s sporty urban styling pack, which adds LED interior ambient lighting, reversing sensors and privacy glass, which tints the rear windows. A UV solar windscreen also reduces any annoying glare that could come into the car.
Alongside all the features from the urban styling pack, the Kia Picanto Quantum also gets plenty of other kit, like automatic air conditioning, keyless entry, front fog lights, a six-speaker audio system and heated door mirrors.
There’s a 1.25-litre petrol engine beneath the car’s bonnet and, if you get it with the manual gearbox, it’ll return up to 62.8mpg, with 106g/km of CO2 emissions. Go for the automatic gearbox and these figures drop down to around 50.4mpg and 130g/km – a steep price to pay given that the manual gearbox is actually more enjoyable to drive. The figures are helped by a clever stop-start system that switches the engine off when the car is stationary to save fuel.
The new Kia Picanto Quantum benefits from Kia’s seven-year warranty that covers the repair costs of any manufacturer faults that could occur within that period. The Kia Picanto also performed well in the 2011 Euro NCAP crash tests and should be a safe car overall, with a score of four stars and 86 per cent for adult occupant protection.
