New Dacia Logan MCV Stepway price and spec announced

Rugged version of estate model comes in top-spec Laureate trim

The new Dacia Logan MCV Stepway, the SUV-influenced version of the brand’s estate car, is available to order now, priced at £11,495.

Dacia uses the Stepway name for cars it gives some 4x4-influenced styling to. In similar fashion to the Sandero Stepway hatchback, the Logan MCV Stepway comes with flared wheelarches, roof rails, a raised ride height and chrome-effect skid plates. The car also features Dacia’s latest signature headlight design, which incorporates LED daytime running lights.

Buyers have a choice of a diesel or petrol engine, both of which produce 89bhp. The petrol TCe 90 returns 55.4mpg and CO2 emissions of 115g/km, while the diesel can manage 72.4mpg and 100g/km of CO2. Both versions come with a five-speed gearbox and cost £140 a year in VED (road tax).

While the petrol is the quicker of the cars from 0-62mph, with a time of 12.4 seconds (the diesel takes 13 seconds), the diesel generates more pulling power, which could be more important if you intend to regularly fill the car with luggage, people or both – or use it for towing.

The Logan MCV Stepway is only available in Dacia’s top-spec Laureate trim, meaning it comes with more equipment than you might expect of a brand that positions itself as a no-frills carmaker.

Standard equipment includes heated, power-adjustable door mirrors, rear parking sensors, a height-adjustable driver’s seat and a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system with sat nav, as well as USB, auxiliary and Bluetooth connectivity.

The car is available in nine colours and comes with 16-inch wheels. Options include a rear parking camera for £200, leather upholstery for £500, metallic paint at £495 and a spare wheel for £100.

The Logan MCV Stepway was revealed at the Geneva Motor Show in March and first UK deliveries are scheduled for June.
