Alfa Romeo Giulia and Stelvio NRING editions announced
Quadrifolglio NRING editions celebrate ties with legendary Nurburgring racing circuit
Alfa Romeo has unveiled limited-edition ‘NRING’ versions of the high-performance Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio saloon and Alfa Romeo Stelvio SUV in honour of the ‘historic bond’ between the manufacturer and the Nurburgring racing circuit.
The NRING models both use the same 503bhp twin-turbo 2.9-litre V6 engine and Q4 four-wheel drive system as the standard Quadrifoglio models. Additions include carbon ceramic brakes as standard, to help shed speed on winding circuits, ‘Circuit Grey’ paint, and carbon-fibre exterior trim and grill surrounds.

Inside, Sparco racing seats have red stitching and a carbon shell. A leather steering wheel and gearstick both feature carbon inserts, and there's a numbered NRING plaque on the dashboard. Adaptive cruise control, an 8.8-inch infotainment system with 3D navigation, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and a premium audio system by Harmon Kardon are all standard. The Giulia NRING gets a carbon-fibre roof panel, while the Stelvio NRING has a panoramic sunroof.
Buyers will have the opportunity to receive sports driving training at the Nurburgring during 2019. It's at the infamously treacherous and technical German circuit that the Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio set an SUV lap record of 7 minutes 51.7 seconds. The Giulia Quadrifoglio saloon blitzed the track in an even quicker 7 minutes and 32 seconds. Both cars can accelerate from 0-62mph in under four seconds.
Every NRING customer will benefit from a 'concierge service' to help them through the purchase process, from order to delivery, and they’ll also receive a numbered 1:18 scale replica of their car. On collection, NRING buyers will also receive a welcome pack that includes racing gloves and a customised soft shell jacket from motorsport brand Sparco, special footwear by Car Show, an Alfa Romeo sports bag, and Quadrifoglio cuff-links.
Alfa Romeo is providing ‘Authenticity Certification’ with every NRING model sold. Issued by FCA Heritage, a body within Fiat Chrysler Automobiles that seeks to preserve the history of the group's storied Italian brands, the certification is intended to emphasise the cars’ exclusivity.
The Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio NRING saloon will cost £82,500 and the Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio NRING SUV is priced at £89,500. Only 108 examples of each model will be offered to buyers in Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
