Renault Kangoo ZE Concept revealed
The Kangoo ZE Concept previews a pure-electric production version of next Kangoo van
The Renault Kangoo ZE Concept has been revealed, offering a preview of the next production Kangoo van. The new Kangoo is scheduled to arrive in showrooms from 2020 with pricing yet to be confirmed.
The Kangoo ZE Concept features a fully electric drivetrain but Renault has yet to reveal any details of the driving range or battery capacity. It’s likely to use the underpinnings found in the current Nissan Leaf, giving it a far greater range than the 90 miles offered by the current Kangoo ZE.

For the ZE Concept, Renault has done away with the square-edged and somewhat dated design of the current Kangoo van to give the car a sleeker and more modern car-like design. The front features a transparent grille, slatted front airdam and air vents in the lower bumper. It also gets a new angled headlight design that is joined by a single light strip surrounding the Renault badge.
The rear features a similar lighting design, with a one-piece light strip joining the rear tail lights with the side-opening tailgate featuring a staggered split design.
According to Renault, this revised body design has no impact on cargo space and boasts a widened rear track that increases space over the current Kangoo van.
Renault has offered no interior or infotainment details, aside from the confirmation that the ZE Concept features side-mounted cameras replacing conventional wing-mirrors. If these were to make production, substantial space would be required on the dashboard to house the required displays.
