New Fiat 500 Dolcevita special edition revealed
Latest limited-edition Fiat 500 celebrates the car’s 62nd anniversary
Fiat has unveiled the Fiat 500 Dolcevita, a special edition to celebrate 62 years since the launch of the original 500. The Dolcevita model features styling tweaks, including a nautical-themed interior. It’ll be available to order at the end of July, with prices starting from £17,995 for the hatchback and £20,995 for the 500C convertible version.
The 500 Dolcevita features ‘Bossa Nova’ white paint, white 16-inch alloy wheels and two red pinstripes that run all the way round the car. The mirror caps, body mouldings and the bonnet line are all finished in chrome. The hatchback has a fixed glass roof, while the convertible model gets an exclusive white and blue fabric roof designed to evoke the deck chairs and beach umbrellas of the Italian Riviera.
Inside, Fiat has given the 500 Dolcevita a wooden-effect dashboard. Underneath the fascia is a thin piece of carbon to keep the dash looking its best. There are also ivory-coloured leather seats with embroidered 500 badges, ivory floor mats, red accents and a ‘wicker-inspired’ centre console.
The Fiat 500 Dolcevita special edition is only available with the 68bhp 1.2-litre non-turbocharged petrol engine, although you can choose Fiat’s Dualogic automatic gearbox over the standard manual at extra cost.
Fiat says the Dolcevita represents ‘Italian glamour’. Many Fiat employees and owners gathered at the old Fiat Lingotto factory on the 4th July to celebrate the anniversary of the 500, one of the company’s best-selling models. The unveiling of this new car is also said to celebrate the 120th anniversary of Fiat as a brand.
