Mercedes EQA and EQB pick up stylish Urban Edition trim levels
Pair of electric SUVs get AMG-inspired looks, black styling accents and different interior trim

- New Urban Edition trim levels for EQA and EQB
- AMG-inspired styling with black accents
- Costs from £51,960 for EQA or £55,010 for EQB
Mercedes has added a pair of new Urban Edition models to its lineup, this time for the EQA and EQB electric SUVs. The new trim level brings some slick styling upgrades, including black accents, AMG-inspired bodywork and some unique interior trim for a small premium over the entry-level model.
The Urban Edition badge isn’t new for Mercedes. It’s already found its way onto the C-Class and E-Class saloons, as well as their GLC and GLE SUV counterparts. The trim level aims to add a dash of sporty style without dramatically inflating the price tag, and the same is true for the EQA and EQB. Both are on sale now from around £52,000 and £55,000, respectively – about £2,000 more than the entry-level versions.
What’s different about the EQA and EQB Urban Editions?
While the Urban Edition trim level has been around for a while now, this is the first time it’s been offered on one of Mercedes’ electric cars. Both the EQA and EQB have been on sale for a few years, so the new Urban Editions could inject some fresh style into the pair of EVs.
Key to the Urban Edition trim level are the exterior tweaks. It gets the same exterior styling package as pricier AMG Line cars, including sporty front and rear bumpers and a different faux grille embellished with an arrangement of Mercedes stars. Both EQA and EQB Urban Editions also pick up the ‘Night Package’, which swaps much of the exterior brightwork for black-painted items.
Also included with the Urban Edition models are a set of 20-inch alloy wheels finished in black, and an ‘illuminated star pattern’ trim for the interior.
There are no changes under the metalwork for the Urban Edition models – both are only available with the ‘250+’ battery and motor configuration. This pairs a 71kWh battery with a single, front-mounted electric motor with 187bhp. The pricier ‘300’ configuration, with its dual-motor, four-wheel drive layout, isn’t available in Urban Edition trim.
Mercedes hasn’t given a range figure for the new Urban Edition models yet, but it won’t be far off what the existing AMG Line Premium models achieve. For the EQA, that stands at 319 miles, while the slightly bigger and boxier EQB manages 295 miles on a charge.
Both the EQA and EQB Urban Editions are on sale now, costing from £51,960 and £55,010, respectively.
