New Skoda Citigo Sport launched
Pictures and prices for the new Skoda Citigo Sport released.
Skoda is extending its supermini Citigo range with the launch of the Sport, a new model with sportier styling, lowered suspension and enhanced equipment.
Available in a three or five-door version and priced from £10,290, the Citigo Sport is based on the SE specification, with a surprisingly frugal 59bhp 1.0-litre MPI petrol engine under the bonnet, that only comes with a five-speed manual gearbox.
The exterior has a sportier look than the standard car, with 15-inch ‘Auriga’ design alloy wheels, fog lights, tinted ‘sunset’ windows and a sports suspension that lowers the height by 15mm. It also gets front and rear spoilers and a rear diffuser. A prominent racing stripe runs over the bonnet from the front to the rear of the car, with more stripes on the back, and on the lower part of the doorframes and exterior mirrors.
The Sport will be available in three colours – Candy White (with red stripes), Tornado Red (with black stripes) and Deep Black (with red stripes). Inside, there are black-and-red sports seats, a three-spoke, red-stitched leather steering wheel, leather handbrake and gearstick, and matching floor mats.
Skoda’s Personal Infotainment Device comes as standard in the Sport and sits at the top of the dashboard, with a five-inch touchscreen that controls sat-nav, Bluetooth hands-free telephoning and a media player that can be synced to external music devices. The Sport also gets four additional speakers.
The Skoda Citigo Sport goes on sale today, with the three-door model costing £10,290 and the five-door £10,640, on the road.
