Peugeot 5008 MPV (2009-2017) - Practicality & boot space
Total load space in the Peugeot 5008 is vast and its rear seats are very versatile
Peugeot’s design team has used the space available within the 5008’s large dimensions very effectively. A big dashboard, clever seating arrangement and large boot all make the 5008 a great car for big family trips. In fact, the boot space on offer manages to outshine even our favourite MPV – the Citroen Grand C4 Picasso.
Peugeot 5008 interior space and storage
The seating system in the 5008 is very clever. It allows all seats to be individually moved and folded, which makes it very easy to get in and out of any of them – including the third row. It also means passengers can always find a comfortable seating position – and even use the reclining feature to have a nap on longer journeys.
There’s plenty of leg and headroom in the second row for adults. Even with the optional sunroof, which shaves off a small portion of headroom, there’s still loads of space for even the tallest of adults. The third-row seats are a little on the small side and really only suitable for children, but adult passengers will find no shortage of space elsewhere in the car.
There’s also storage space under the floor in the second row of seats and a large cubbyhole beneath the centre console. The second-row seats have their own tray tables, which fold away when not needed.
Boot space
Although the 5008 offers fairly limited luggage room with all seats in place, this is a common feature of seven-seater cars. Dropping the rear seats provides a vast 823-litre boot, while if you fold away all of the seats, the total boot space expands to a truly enormous 2,506 litres – bigger than many vans.
Towing
The Peugeot 5008 can tow up to 1,100kg when fitted with the 1.6-litre diesel engine, while the 1.2-litre petrol can pull up to 1,400kg.
