Audi A3 Saloon (2013-2020) - Interior & comfort
The Audi A3 saloon has one of the best interiors you’ll find, but beware stiff S line suspension
Ride comfort can be too firm if you go for larger wheels and the Sport or S line suspension set-up. But thankfully it's possible to replace that suspension with a more comfortable configuration at no extra cost.
Audi A3 dashboard
All the controls are clear and logically laid out, while the highly-adjustable seat and steering wheel make finding your perfect driving position straightforward. Even the round air vents are carefully designed, with a central push-pull control to either diffuse the air or focus it into a jet.
Depending on your budget, you can specify anything from the standard (and perfectly fine) cloth seats to gorgeous quilted leather – no less special than you'll find in a £70,000 Audi A8.
Equipment
The A3 Saloon is well equipped, with the entry-level Sport model having 17-inch alloy wheels, a 5.8-inch colour screen, DAB digital radio, eight speakers, Bluetooth and heated washer jets.
S line adds half-leather upholstery, a sports steering wheel, extra storage nets and compartments, an S line body styling kit and xenon headlights.
The sporty S3 has adjustable suspension, heated leather seats, a flat-bottomed steering wheel, special instruments, a more aggressive-looking body kit and & quad exhaust pipes.
Options
The Technology package includes an upgraded sat nav system along with a larger infotainment screen, a DVD player and MMI Touch – a touch-sensitive input panel for operating the sat nav without taking your eyes off the road.
Buyers can also pick an upgraded Audi stereo that includes 10 speakers, one of which is a 180-watt subwoofer. Also available is the 14-speaker Bang & Olufsen system, which offers even better sound quality.
White, red and black are standard colours, but you can pay extra for metallic or pearl-effect paintwork. Sport models can be upgraded with leather upholstery from the options list.
