I was in the market for a high performance saloon car so narrowed it down to an M3 and a RS5. I've got no intention of visiting a track. I'm a good driver but by no means a pro. just wanted a fast good looking car that turned heads. I test drove both cars on the same day and came to the following conclusion: The Audi is far better looking both inside and outside. I could have been sat in a BMW 320d for all I knew when I was inside the M3. The Audi is more of a head turner and is also more exclusive. You'll find hundreds of M3s and only a handful of RS5s. Both are brutally fast although I felt much safer in the Audi. I preferred the AWD ride. Each to there own I suppose but for me the Audi was superior in every way

I must say this car is brilliant as second sports car, I'm very pleased with it. Can turn from gentle to a real beast. It's also a very comfortable cruiser, it'll even can take a family of four. My previous cars include a Maserati GranTurismo, Mercedes C63 AMG and BMW M3, and I reckon the the Audi is far ahead for daily performance driving at any weather, including rain and snow. It's a good compromised between a high performance and luxury car. The M3 was much better on a track, but not in real life, and the Mercedes and Maserati are miles behind. Bad point only was Minor electrical problems -parking sensors .

I've owned my RS5 just under a year. I love the car. You get more smiles per gallon when driving hard under 10mpg, around town late teens, a run on the motorway @70-80 i get mid 20s. I bought this as I did not want the supercar attention. I think it is such an understated car. Park it in a carpark and it's safe (it's a nice looking Audi A5 to the common man). It looks nice but not WOW look it a Bentley/Aston and key the bugger. Had no issues so far in the time I have owned it.
