Superb build quality and the big diesel is a fantastic power plant especially in the mid range overtaking range where there's huge torque - it's very quiet, too. Tiresome boy racers are easily dealt with! Massive boot, drop down rear seats even better, and the LED matrix lighting is sensational My only criticisms, for which a star is deducted, are; The lack of internal storage, as the centre console is too shallow, Electric folding mirrors should be standard on a £45k+ car, Some minor controls esp heating and a/c are fiddly, due to being too low on the console.

Absolutely superb. Ride can be harsh on certain surfaces. Can be brutal if great care not taken with throttle. Brakes harsh when cold.

I do a big annual mileage (40000k/yr) so my choice was made on basis of safety,comfort and ease of driving , along with style, quality ,emmissions and build. This car has not disappointed it's a league above my previous car - bmw 525d m sport

Fuel economy not as good as expected for a diesel. Overall happy with the comfort and gadgets. A little disappointed when first bought as two major things went wrong with the car. Having said that i would probably buy the same model again.

Cheap to run for such a big car, due to it's tdie engine. Beautiful cabin, with a high class look and feel. Very comfortable on long journeys, plenty of technology to keep me happy and a massive boot. Handling could be a bit sharper, and it is a bit too big for most parking spaces.

Excellent, bar the transmission tunnel encroaches too much into footwell meaning my left foot is always 'resting' in an uncomfortable position. Rear wash/wipe has stopped 'washing'. Heated front washers are non-existent - especially in this weather. My old 92 volvo 940 estate never freezes the windscreen washer, so a little unhappy an a6 avant 3.0tdi can't manage it! Great car otherwise!

Very good all round car although it is a bit hard on petrol. Even though the car is now 10 years old it looks and drives like a much younger vehicle.

This is my second a6 avant, and it is definately improved on the 2008 model. I look forward to the next version, though i wish audi would match bmw with their efficient engine technology. Come on audi, give us the performance with high low fuel consumption and emissions!

Superb V6 diesel is quiet and has plenty of grunt in the 30-50mph and 50-70mph overtaking bands. Excellent build quality. LED matrix headlights are unbelievably good. The hard suspension crashes on some roads, but gives excellent road holding. Huge boot, roomy cabin. The only downsides are the fiddly controls above the centre console and a general lack of storage space especially in the centre console which is too shallow. MMI system needs a lot of practise to appreciate all of its features. Seats need a bit more lateral support.

Worst car ever. So many faults: first air mass sensor repaired 4 times, then oil pressure low, blew the turbo, then the gasket and engine. It's cost me twice as what the car is worth!

The best car I have ever had to drive so good handle like it's glued to the road. Very nice inside and look better than the company bmw 5 that I had before with all the thing that when wrong with it. So touch wood so far the a6 is not had anything go wrong. I have the 20" wheels on that look great. Very happy with is car a would recommend it to any one who is thing about buying it.

The a6 avant has been a great car; practical and stylish. Its showing its age after 4 years of wear and the economy has reduced from an incredible 50+ mpg to a still credible 45+ over the last year.

Nice car to own and drive. Persistent problems with sound system that audi dealers seem not able or bothered to fix. Major oil leaks occurred 3 times which have resulted in recovery. Nice handling and great pulling power, but for £30k i'd expect that!

Really only a 4 seater as the middle rear seat is as hard as rock and concave so v uncomfortable. Very easy drive with lots of power. Boot a good size. Expensive to service/maintain and i feel a bit ripped off paying hundreds of pounds for 'software upgrades' which i'm not convinced i absolutely needed. Have to service it at a audi garage because local garage can't cope with the specialised electrics, which makes it expensive.

3 years, 2 new wiper blades 2 new tyres nothing else could not be better. New list 44k i bought 1 year old for 26k i'm sure it's worth less than 10 now but it's been faultless

The car has far exceeded my expectations and i would highly recommend not just the a6 but the audi range to anyone that is prepared to listen to my opinion. I also highly rate the audi dealers, they are very polite and very helpful which is part and parcel of making for an enjoyable experience with a car and its manufacturer. If they bring a hybrid engine out i shall also consider this for my wife.

A6 2.5tdi quattro sport avant. amazing torque once the turbo is spinning but 1st gear is pointless. Decent boot size. Ride is bit harsh but on 40 profile tyres in this country not surprised! Corrosion resistance isn't what an audi should be

All the things that have gone wrong are knocking noise from the engine. noise coming from the brakes and had to be welded. The knocking noise was fixed by audi glasgow on the 4th attempt and the brakes were fixed by a private garage. And now the engine management system wont let me go ant faster than 40mph when i put down the accelerator. So i wont ever by a audi again. The build quality is brill but that's not everything, and the driving position is awful.

Has lived up to expectations in every way. Comfortable and relaxing to drive, especially on long journeys (100 mls+) and reasonably economical ( 43mpg on a run). Dealer service excellent, if expensive.

I cant help but feel completely disappointed with this car In 6 months ownership, here are the issues, in the order they happened. Car was 2 weeks late after i bought it because of Adaptive headlight replacement fault Then had some bad rattles in the interior Audi eventually repaired Car idling rough at stop (random) Audi cant find issue Brought car back, AC stopped working, and was noisy. Apparently a software update. Adaptive cruise control fault. not always working. Fault on ABS 0 currently being investigated When i first bought the car, I was surprised how hard the gear changes can be in particular between first and second, more noticeable when the car is on adaptive cruise control. I complained about this to Audi, no faults were found. Then yesterday, the car went into limp mode with Gear box failure. I'm told this could be an expensive fix. Either way, ive had enough of this very high spec 2011 model. This is my second Audi, and the last one i changed because of a major gear box issue. Seems that Audi gear boxes can be trouble, so once the car is repaired under warranty, its out the door, and i'm going back to BMW. A real shame, if the car didnt have those issues, it really is a magnificent car to drive, quiet, lots of torque, and spacious with lots of toys. This particular car had 40k of optional extras when new, and being the first of the line on that model with all those extras, i guess the faults are now becoming apparent. So time to move it on before the warranty is up

Had this car for two years and it was perfect in almost every respect. It was nice and nibble and pretty nippy for such a big car, and the economy was outstanding. Anything from 45 to 67 MPG was the norm depending on what the day's driving involved. The only issue we had was when it swallowed the first CD we put in and wouldn't give it back. But this was evidently because it hadn't been set on the pre-delivery inspection, so the dealers fault, not the car. It surpassed our previous BMW 5 Series in every respect which was a surprise when everyone told us to expect the opposite. The dealers were helpful also, but then the Norwich BMW dealership was so poor as to be beyond a joke, so perhaps this was easy to beat. Just been for a test drive of new BMW 5 Series, Jag and another Audi and have just ordered another Audi as a result. This time the new Ultra version.

Generally very reliable. Only major problem was extensive flooding of foot-wells & sub-frame incl engine mgmt system & electrics. Off-road for approx 1 month & Ł800 costs. Cause blocked filters & bad design.
