BMW X1 SUV (2015-2022) - Interior & comfort
The BMW X1 has sat nav as standard across the range and can be fitted with a huge amount of extras
If you’ve been in a BMW before, you’ll be familiar with the sort of high-quality and logical layout you get in the X1. Standard equipment is pretty good, too. Visibility is also impressive and the suspension system is forgiving enough for most road surfaces. We’d recommend the optional adaptive dampers, as they’re not too pricey and can further improve or alter the X1’s driving style to better suit your needs or preferences.
BMW X1 dashboard
The X1’s dashboard layout and design will be instantly familiar to anyone who’s previously driven (or just sat in) a modern BMW, and is starting to feel slightly dated compared with newer rivals. Most of the controls and the centre console are angled towards the driver and the materials used feel plush and high quality. From the 2019 facelift onwards, all cars feature BMW’s latest iDrive infotainment system with an 8.8-inch touchscreen, sat nav and Apple CarPlay. A larger 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen is available on the options list.
Equipment
All versions of the X1 are well equipped, with even the entry-level SE model sporting 17-inch alloy wheels, a powered tailgate and satellite navigation as standard. Choose the Sport and you’ll be treated to larger alloy wheels, an attractive red trim line that runs along the dashboard and sports seats.
xLine models have LED headlights and leather upholstery as standard, while the M Sport model sits at the top of the range and throws in some racier details, including a more aerodynamic bodykit and sports suspension. The M Sport version can also be finished in a unique Estoril Blue metallic paint colour.
Options
The X1 can be fitted with a sliding rear seat and a front passenger seat that can fold flat for extra practicality. Along with that, the X1 offers a vast array of options, including a panoramic roof, plus varied interior upholstery and dashboard colours and a suite of extra safety technology.
