BMW X6 SUV (2014-2019) - Reliability & safety
The BMW X6 offers excellent build quality and comes packed full of safety features
The BMW X6 didn’t feature in our 2018 Driver Power customer satisfaction survey, but it takes its engine and parts from across BMW range, so its mechanicals are proven. Safety should be strong, but as a relatively niche model, the X6 has never been crash-tested by Euro NCAP.
BMW X6 reliability
Although the BMW X6 didn't appear in our 2019 Driver Power survey, you can expect ownership to be a pain-free experience. BMW came 25th out of 30 manufacturers in our 2019 Driver Power poll, behind Audi (16th), though this result may be partly indicative of the high expectations owners have of the brand.
Safety
The BMW X6 hasn't been crash-tested by Euro NCAP but all BMWs tested in the last few years have attracted five star safety ratings. As standard, the X6 comes with a Driving Assistant that includes City Collision Mitigation, Forward Collision Warning, Lane Departure Warning and Preventive Pedestrian Protection. The X6 has numerous air bags, electronic stability control and tyre-pressure monitoring. There’s also a huge options list that includes items such as night vision and a surround-view camera system.
