SEAT Leon ST estate - Reliability & safety (2014-2020)
The current SEAT Leon ST scored well on reliability in the Driver Power owner satisfaction survey
Although SEAT shares parts with the rest of the VW Group, its dealers fall behind the standards of the competition at Volkswagen and Skoda. In our latest Driver Power 2018 owner satisfaction survey, the brand came 14th out of 26 manufacturers, with Volkswagen in fifth and Skoda in sixth.
SEAT Leon ST reliability
The SEAT Leon came 52nd out of the top 100 cars on sale in the UK in our 2019 Driver Power owner satisfaction survey. Of the owners who responded, 15.6% reported experiencing a problem with their car at least once, compared with 26.2% for the Volkswagen Golf.
Safety
The SEAT Leon secured the maximum five-star rating in the Euro NCAP crash safety tests thanks to its stiff body, full set of airbags and standard electronic stability control. That result was achieved in 2012, though, and Euro NCAP is constantly revising its criteria.
Additional equipment including the Driving assistance and Safety Pack can bolster safety further, making it less likely that the Leon will be involved in a crash in the first place.
