Skoda Elroq review – Interior & comfort

“While rivals have bigger boots, the Elroq’s interior is spacious and there are practical features abound”

If you’ve ever stepped into a Skoda Enyaq, then the Skoda Elroq’s interior might feel rather familiar. Its cabin is almost identical in layout to that of its larger sibling, which is no bad thing. There’s a row of shortcut buttons on the dashboard to skip to key functions on the infotainment, and it gets a floating centre console.

Everything feels well screwed together and materials feel of good quality. You can specify different interior themes as with other Skoda models – we particularly like the optional ‘Lodge’ theme with grey and black upholstery and orange seatbelts for a pop of colour.

It’s a real shame Skoda didn’t bring its ‘Smart Dials’ from the latest Superb and Kodiaq because they work well in those cars. It’s also a shame there are no physical climate controls, so you’ll have to go through the infotainment to tweak these settings.

Is the Skoda Elroq infotainment and navigation system easy to use?

The Elroq gets a large 13-inch infotainment screen with the brand’s latest software. It looks very crisp and we found it to be very responsive to our inputs with short load times. A customisable home screen means you can put your most used features and widgets to the forefront for quick access.

Otherwise, though, the system is a little too busy, which could be an issue if you want to click something quickly on the move.

Is the Skoda Elroq well equipped?

The Skoda Elroq feels fairly well equipped for the price, though you’ll have to jump up to SE L if you want heated seats and a heated steering wheel, as well as sat nav. Admittedly, you can live without those features, but we expect lots of buyers will want to upgrade to this trim.

What options should you choose on the Skoda Elroq?

The Skoda Elroq loses some points given the fact that a heat pump doesn’t come standard and is a pricey £1,000 option. We really think it’s a vital think to specify because it helps keep the battery at a good operating temperature when it’s cold out, which can negatively affect range. Some rivals, such as the Kia EV3 and Renault Scenic get this as standard, though.
