Skoda Elroq review – Boot space, practicality & boot dimensions

“While rivals have bigger boots, the Elroq’s interior is spacious and there are practical features abound”

The Skoda Elroq feels very airy to sit in thanks to the large windows all round – as a result, visibility is brilliant, too. There’s a good amount of space in the back of the Elroq even with two tall adults in the front. Legroom is generous and makes for a comfortable seating position in the rear, and because of the Elroq’s upright proportions there’s a lot of headroom.

Because the batteries are found in the floor, it comes up higher than you might expect if you’ve sat in a similarly-sized petrol or diesel model. While this can make for a strange seating position in other EVs, the Skoda gets extended seat bases which offer some extra support for those with long legs.

There are two sets of ISOFIX mounting points in the rear which are easy to access, so those with young children are catered to.

Does the Skoda Elroq have a big boot?

The Skoda Elroq has a spacious, decent-sized boot, but so do its rivals. The Renault Scenic boasts a whole 75 litres more boot space, but then you do get some unique practical additions in the Elroq. For example, there’s a useful storage net on the underside of the parcel shelf. That means the charging cables can be more accessible than they would otherwise be if they were under the boot floor and you had a cargo area full of items.

There are some little cubby holes either side of the boot, and the parcel shelf is height adjustable and can be stowed away if you need to free up more space. As with some other Skoda models, there are neat little features such as an ice scraper in the bootlid and an umbrella hidden in the front doors.
