Hot car deal: Vauxhall Corsa Electric for £180 per month – a great first EV
Luxury-spec Vauxhall Corsa electric supermini offers bags of kit for just £180 per month
One of the biggest gripes we’ve had about the Vauxhall Corsa Electric is that it can be expensive to buy or lease – an issue which is strangely at odds with the Griffin brand’s value-for-money image. Acknowledging the issue, Vauxhall recently introduced the cheaper Yes Edition which now serves as the entry point to the Corsa range, representing a significant £5,500 reduction over the previously entry-level Design trim.
We think this flexible personal leasing deal from Carwow makes the Corsa Electric even more affordable – particularly as it comes in top-of-the-range Ultimate specification – and should help convince those currently thinking of making the switch to an EV to take the plunge.

The Ultimate trim features a lot of useful standard kit, along with some luxury items, too. Practical touches such as keyless entry and start, front and rear parking sensors, a panoramic rear-view camera, and adaptive cruise control all help to make life on the road that bit easier, while there’s a heated steering wheel, climate control, and heated front seats with a massage function for the driver. The Ultimate-spec model looks the part, too, with 17-inch black alloy wheels with grey inserts, IntelliLux adaptive LED Matrix headlights and unique badging.
This particular Corsa Electric has a 50kWh battery and single electric motor producing 134bhp and 205Nm of instantly available torque, enabling the small five-door hatchback to reach 0-62mph in a brisk 8.2 seconds. Vauxhall quote a maximum overall range of up to 221 miles, although as with any EV there are certain factors, such as weather conditions, driving style and load, which will affect how far you can travel on a single full charge.
And charging up shouldn’t take too much of your time, because the Corsa Electric’s 100kW maximum charging speed will take a flat battery to 80% full in around 30 minutes, while a standard 7.4kW home wallbox – that you’ll mostly use for charging overnight – requires just under eight hours for a complete top up.
For those buyers that maybe aren’t quite decided on whether an EV’s right for them, the Corsa Electric represents a sensible choice; it looks just like the regular petrol model, with the same interior, while it’s very easy to drive. It could be a great introduction to electric car ownership - even more so via this attractive leasing deal.
