Hot car deal: new and improved Volkswagen Golf for just £184 a month
Our hot car deal for April 15th is the facelifted Volkswagen Golf hatchback for just £184 a month
The revised Volkswagen Golf is now available to order and we’ve sourced a great finance deal for anyone on the lookout for a new version of the iconic, best-selling hatchback. This year is the Golf’s 50th birthday, and to celebrate it’s received an array of upgrades – both inside and out – to keep things fresh and appealing for a new generation of buyers. There are some minor visual updates for this ‘Mk8.5’ model, but the most striking change you’ll notice is the redesigned infotainment screen, which now sits as a free-standing unit on top of the dash.
What’s so good about this Volkswagen Golf deal?
This deal from Central Leasing lets you cover up to 5,000 miles a year with an initial payment of £2,400.00 then monthly payments of £183.59 over two years. There is flexibility to either extend the length of the agreement or adjust the annual mileage, but you will pay more for the privilege. For example, increasing the agreed mileage to 10,000 miles per year means you’ll pay £200.39 every month.
Offered in Match trim, this particular Golf model includes 17-inch alloy wheels, rear privacy glass, adaptive cruise control, front and rear parking sensors, a rear-view camera, a keyless entry and go function, and a 12.9-inch infotainment screen with integrated sat-nav.
Power comes from a 1.5-litre TSI petrol engine, producing 113bhp via a six-speed manual gearbox. 0-62mph takes 9.9 seconds, while Volkswagen claims you should see impressive average fuel economy of up to 51.2mpg.
What’s so good about the Volkswagen Golf?
The Mk8.5 doesn't look radically different from the model launched in 2019, which is no bad thing. However, to its credit, Volkswagen has chosen to address the issues surrounding the touch-sensitive and slide controls found on the steering wheel and across the dash – an area which made the car more difficult to operate on the move than it needed to be.
The steering wheel now comes with much more usable buttons and switches and, although the climate and volume controls are still controlled by touch-sensitive sliders, they are now back-lit to make them easier to see and operate at night. The mid-life refresh just does enough to keep the Golf at the top of its game, and with monthly instalments from under £200, this deal looks to be a strong overall package.

Anything else I need to know about this deal?
This is a lease deal, often referred to as Personal Contract Hire (PCH), so there’s no option to buy the car at the end of the contract. You are effectively renting the car for the two-year term, but the deal is very flexible so you can adjust the term length, mileage limit and initial payment size to suit, but only at the outset. Once the deal is over, you just hand the keys back and start looking for your next car.
Our hot deals are carefully selected by our car buying experts and they are all subject to change. Always read the full terms and conditions and make sure the car and the deal suits your needs before proceeding.
