Volvo has long taken a minimalist Scandinavian approach when it comes to its interior designs, and the latest XC90 is no different. For the facelift, Volvo has improved fit, finish and build quality even further. One example of this is the centre console, where the sliding cover for the cupholders used to have some gaps in it, these are flush in the latest model. As a result, it’s clear to see the brand has gone down to the grain to make sure every possible detail is accounted for, adding up to an even more premium experience.

The facelifted XC90 gets a new, larger infotainment screen that replaces the slightly outdated and small unit from the outgoing car. At 11.2 inches, it’s still smaller than that of the all-electric EX90, but at least it sports the latest version of the brand’s infotainment system and looks crisper and more polished than before.
Material quality feels good, and the uncluttered look to the dashboard makes it feel serene and tranquil. The panoramic roof on higher-spec models also helps to give an airy feel to the interior.
Equipment
Like the rest of the Volvo lineup, the XC90 is now offered in Core, Plus and Ultra trim levels. 20-inch wheels, four-wheel drive and seven seats are standard on every model, along with Volvo's latest Android-based infotainment system, LED headlights, an advanced air-filtration system, hands-free boot opening, keyless entry, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, auto-dimming mirrors and DAB digital radio.
Plus gets you a Harman Kardon premium sound system, panoramic roof 360-degree parking camera and other niceties, while the top-spec Ultra gets 21-inch wheels, an even higher-spec Bower & Wilkins sound system, massaging front seats, Nappa leather and air suspension for an improved ride.
Buyers of Plus and Ultra can also pick between a Dark or Bright theme, giving the exterior trim and the front grille either a black or chrome finish.
Options
The options list was reduced with the introduction of the new trim levels in 2022, but it's still possible to customise an XC90 to an extent. There's a range of metallic and premium metallic paint colours, along with a choice of alloy wheels.
Buyers can also pick some practical features, such as a retractable tow bar, privacy glass and integrated child seats.
