Citroën Berlingo Multispace MPV (2008-2018) - Practicality & boot space
Removing the rear seats in a Citroen Berlingo boosts load space to 3,000 litres
Access is the Citroen Berlingo's strong suit, thanks to a high seating position and big doors. The car is easiest to get into through the enormous sliding side doors, while it has one of the most practical interiors you can get – if not one of the most stylish.
Citroen Berlingo interior space & storage
Oddment boxes and other storage areas are plentiful, plus there's an innovative aeroplane-style overhead storage system called ModuTop that capitalises on the van-like load space. This allows families to quickly access vital car journey essentials and means there's a good amount of storage even when all seven seats are in use.
Boot space
The Berlingo’s boot holds 675 litres, but when you fold the rear seats down, that expands to an enormous 3,000 litres – more than enough for trips to the garden centre or dump. Even with the optional third row of seats in place, legroom is generous all round.
The aforementioned ModuTop roof adds up to 170 litres of extra capacity if you want maximum space. On the other hand, fitting those third-row seats does reduce the luggage area somewhat. Loading up is made easy by a vast rear tailgate.
Towing
The Berlingo Multispace can tow up to 1,300kg. As is usually the case, the more powerful diesel engines are best if you’re planning on using the Berlingo as a tow car.
