Our experts sift through the best car lease deals to save you money, and this week features offers from Nissan, Tesla and Volkswagen

Nissan Qashqai b road front

When leasing a new car the sheer number of deals, payment terms and deals can seem almost overwhelming. That’s why our team of car experts keep an eye on the latest trends and only pick out the car leases with the biggest discounts on the best models. We also check the terms and conditions to make sure there are no surprises like stinging admin fees or excessive initial rental payments.

Our choices for this week’s round-up of the best leasing deals include the Nissan Qashqai family favourite for £233 a month, the popular Tesla Model 3 for £271 and the Volkswagen ID.3 for £214.

Before signing on the dotted line, you’ll want to understand exactly how a leasing deal (also known as PCH) works, and how it differs from Personal Control Purchase (PCP) finance and Hire Purchase (HP). In its most basic terms, think of PCH as akin to renting the car on a long-term basis, while PCP allows you to pay off a car in instalments before deciding whether to buy it outright with a balloon payment or handing it back at the end of the term. Hire Purchase is more like a mortgage, where you pay monthly instalments until you own the car outright.

Along with cash purchases, these are the main methods of buying a new car in the UK, and the Carbuyer team also picks out the week’s best PCP car deals, along with some of our favourite used car deals of the week. A PCH deal is enticing thanks to its affordable prices, giving you access to new cars with very little hassle, but there’s typically no opportunity to own the car at the end of the term.

Best new car leasing deals – latest deals updated 24 October 2024

Nissan Qashqai: £233 a month

Nissan Qashqai rear quarter cruising

The latest Nissan Qashqai has been updated to bring you sharper looks, improved tech and a higher quality feel throughout the cabin. It’s always been a firm family favourite in the UK, and the Qashqai has very few – if any – notable flaws. Other rivals might offer a little more kerb appeal or a more enjoyable drive, but the Qashqai is a strong contender across the board.

About this lease deal…

  • Monthly payments: £232.83
  • Initial payment: £3,093.95
  • Fees: £0
  • Mileage limit: 5,000
  • List price: £34,430

Comfortable, efficient with impressive on board tech, it’s not hard to see why the Qashqai continues to be so popular with families up and down the country. Using Nissan’s e-Power hybrid technology, this particular model is capable of an average of up to 54.3mpg (WLTP combined), while it provides decent acceleration too; the 0-62mph benchmark covered in 7.9 seconds. It may be paired with the entry Acenta Premium specification, but you won’t be left wanting for kit, as it includes rear parking sensors with a rear view camera, dual-zone climate control, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with a 12.3-inch infotainment display.

Volkswagen ID.3: £214

Volkswagen ID.3 facelift UK

The Volkswagen ID.3 has certainly improved with age; a facelift in 2023 bringing enhanced interior quality and tweaks to the car’s software and infotainment system. It still isn’t a class leader, but the ID.3 is well worth a look – particularly at this tempting price.

  • Monthly payments: £213.92
  • Initial payment: £2,861.04
  • Fees: £0
  • Mileage limit: 5,000
  • List price: £36,560

This particular ID.3 model offers up to 268 miles of range from a full charge, while performance is strong too, with the ID.3’s 201bhp total output helping to take the family hatch from 0-62mph in 7.6 seconds. Standard kit includes: 18-inch alloy wheels, Matrix LED headlights, dual-zone climate control, heated seats, front and rear parking sensors, and a rear view camera.

Renault Clio: £153 a month

The Renault Clio offers great value for money, with decent quality throughout and a good level of standard equipment. It’s also blessed with stylish looks which help it stand out from the supermini crowd, along with being fun to drive and practical, too; this petrol version has a 391-litre boot, which is a bigger loadspace than you’ll find in a VW Golf.

Renault Clio UK rear handling

About this lease deal…

  • Monthly payments: £152.93
  • Initial payment: £2,195.14
  • Fees: £0
  • Mileage limit: 5,000
  • List price: £18,395

The Clio is a decent car to drive, providing an effective balance between comfort and handling, while its 1.0-litre, three-cylinder TCe 90 petrol engine is capable of around 54mpg, which means running costs shouldn’t break the bank. The Evolution specification is the entry point to the range but still includes 16-inch alloys, automatic headlights and windscreen wipers, rear parking sensors, and a seven-inch infotainment touchscreen with navigation and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.

Toyota C-HR: £237 a month

Overall efficiency is a particularly impressive quality of the Toyota C-HR, with hybrid and plug-in hybrid models making up the range. Its futuristic styling may not be to everyone’s taste, but the C-HR’s angular lines certainly capture your attention, and there’s lots of standard kit and active safety features on board working away to make each journey safer and easier to manage – it’s a good setup.

Toyota C-HR UK front dynamic

About this lease deal…

  • Monthly payments: £237.35
  • Initial payment: £3,118.17
  • Fees: £0
  • Mileage limit: 5,000
  • List price: £31,300

With the C-HR’s claimed average fuel economy of 60.1mpg, you shouldn’t be spending too much time on the petrol station forecourt, while Toyota’s reputation for reliability and a long warranty are other positives that should make ownership a breeze. A couple of downsides to mention include the rather tight rear passenger space and a small boot, but if that doesn’t pose a problem for your particular lifestyle, then the C-HR is worth a look.

Volkswagen ID.7: £252 a month

Volkswagen has done a fine job with its all-electric ID.7, and you’ll find overall refinement, onboard technology and the driving experience all come up to scratch. With good practicality and an impressive range it’s the German manufacturer’s best EV to date.

id.7 deal

About this lease deal…

  • Monthly payments: £252.00
  • Initial payment: £3,322.80.55
  • Fees: £0
  • Mileage limit: 5,000
  • List price: £32,000

The Volkswagen ID.7 is comfortable and easy to live with, although unlike VW’s other ID. models, which have a more SUV-like style, the ID.7 has a saloon-cum-hatchback design that occupies a sizable footprint. This particular deal is for a Pro Match model which brings a 381-mile maximum range and a decent turn of pace; 0-62mph covered in just 6.5 seconds. Standard equipment includes 19-inch alloy wheels, rear privacy glass, adaptive cruise control, heated front seats with a massage function, a heated steering wheel, a power tailgate, and a 15-inch infotainment display with integrated navigation.

Hyundai Tucson: £211 a month

The Hyundai Tucson was voted our favourite family car in 2022 and 2023 (also picking up the Carbuyer Car of the Year title in ‘22) and for good reason. Its eye-catching design, clever on-board technology and quality interior mean that it delivers for family buyers looking for more bang for their buck. There’s plenty of space on offer inside the cabin, while the choice of hybrid or plug-in hybrid powertrains helps with boosting overall efficiency and keeping running costs down.

Hyundai Tucson 1.6T Advance

Hyundai Tucson front quarter driving

About this lease deal…

  • Monthly payments: £211.30
  • Initial payment: £2,834.55
  • Fees: £0
  • Mileage limit: 5,000
  • List price: £32,000

Over the past decade or so, Hyundai has worked hard to shake off its rather dowdy image, coming up with a raft of family cars that don’t just offer basic practicality, but also look great and come full of the latest technology. The Tucson mid-size SUV is a particularly eye-catching example from the South Korean manufacturer, offering decent loadspace and useful functionality, while also being sharply styled, comfortable and full of kit. This particular model, although in entry Advance trim, comes with a 12.3-inch infotainment display, wireless smartphone charging, front and rear parking sensors, a rear view camera and cruise control.

Skoda Scala: £173 a month

The Skoda Scala is an often-overlooked hatchback, with buyers tending to stick to more popular names like the Volkswagen Golf or Skoda Octavia. However, there’s a lot going for the Scala, namely its enormous interior and boot. It’s excellent value, too, proved by this sub-£200 a month leasing deal. If it’s simple, no-frills family transport you need, this deal could be just what you’re after.

Skoda Scala 1.0 TSI 95 SE Edition

Skoda Scala UK front quarter cruising

About this lease deal…

  • Monthly payments: £173.12
  • Initial payment: £2,371.44
  • Fees: £0
  • Mileage limit: 5,000
  • List price: £22,255

We had very few complaints when we tested the latest Skoda Scala. It’s not trying to be anything other than a functional, practical family car at a rock-bottom price. It shares its platform and engine range with the Fabia supermini – which in turn is shared with the Volkswagen Polo – but the Scala gets an elongated body for maximum interior and boot space. For a car at this price, it’s surprisingly well equipped – even in this entry-level SE Edition specification. You get a large infotainment screen and a digital driver’s display as standard, plus a rear-view camera and parking sensors to make navigating tight car parks a doddle. The 94bhp 1.0-litre engine and five-speed manual gearbox are nothing special, but it’ll crack over 50mpg, making it as affordable to fill up as it is to lease.
