New Subaru Outback revealed
The new Subaru Outback will go on sale in November with a range of updates

A new Subaru Outback has been revealed, with a range of interior and exterior updates including a new 2.0D SX Lineartronic model which adds an automatic gearbox to the 2.0-litre diesel engine, which was previously available only as a manual.
The new Subaru Outback estate is available to buy from 1 November and costs from £29,995 for the entry-level model with a 2.0-litre diesel engine and manual gearbox – £1,125 more than the current model. The new diesel model with an automatic gearbox costs from £31,495.
Economy in the new 2.0D SX Lineartronic model is a little down on the manual version, with the car getting 45mpg and 166g/km emissions, compared to 48mpg and 155g/km in the manual. That means road tax costs £285 for the first year, and then £200 per year thereafter.
Exterior updates for the new Outback include an updated design, body-coloured plastic around the wheel arches and bumpers (compared with black plastic before), larger foglamps and a gunmetal finish for the alloy wheels. Plus. There are two new colours to choose from: Deep Sea Blue Pearl and Dark Grey Metallic.
Interior updates include a more modern-looking dashboard with new materials, plus black metallic panels and a more user-friendly interface for the in-car technology.
The new 2.0D SX specification gets 17-inch alloy wheels, colour-coded door handles, a powered sunroof, roof rails, air-conditioning, automatic wipers and automatic headlights as standard. It also gets headlight washers, cruise control, a leather steering wheel, heated front seats and a windscreen wiper de-icer function as standard.
Options for this new specification include sat-nav and leather upholstery. Alongside the 2.0D SX are the entry-level S, mid-range SE and top-spec SE NavPlus. Aside from the 2.0-litre diesel, the Subaru Outback is also available with a 2.5-litre petrol engine, and all models are four-wheel drive.
