2025 Skoda Enyaq: first official look at updated family EV
Skoda’s family EV will be updated next year with its latest ‘Modern Solid’ styling
- Facelift for the Skoda Enyaq EV
- ‘Modern Solid’ design language to match Elroq
- Coming next year
The Skoda Enyaq is in line to receive a major update next year, and we’ve just been given our first official teaser. The new sketch images give us a clear view of the electric SUV’s fresh design, which has been heavily inspired by the new Skoda Elroq.
Like the Elroq, the new Enyaq will sport the brand's ‘Modern Solid’ design language, which is aimed to appeal to “more progressive customers”. The first sketch confirms that the Enyaq’s large faux-grille – reminiscent of its petrol and diesel cars – will be replaced by the ‘Tech-Deck’ face, which is exclusive to its EVs.
This will hide the various sensors needed for the car’s safety systems. The gloss black panel will be slimmer and wider than the grille fitted to the current Enyaq and will blend into a set of LED daytime running lights at either end.
The main headlight units will sit underneath, incorporated into a revised front bumper design. The traditional bonnet emblem is expected to make way for the brand’s simple ‘Skoda’ lettering, too. Other visual changes include the arrival of a new Olive Green paint colour and dark chrome trim pieces used on the bumpers, side sills and Skoda lettering.
The sketches show both the Enyaq and Enyaq Coupe, confirming that both models will be renewed for this update. Judging by the second sketch, it doesn’t look like Skoda has fiddled with anything at the back of the Enyaq – this looks identical to the current car.
“When Enyaq was introduced a couple years ago, the majority of our customers were still more traditional,” explained Skoda’s sales and marketing boss, Martin Jahn. “Now we are moving into the more progressive customers that we need for this new phase, and the new design for the car.”
Skoda has also hinted that there will be changes to the Enyaq’s interior, too, along with its battery and electric motor setup. The latter could bring an improved range – the Enyaq currently tops out at 348 miles.
The Enyaq was a home run for Skoda when it launched in 2020 and over 200,000 examples have since found their way to European owners. But competition in the EV market has ramped up over the past year, with new manufacturers from across the globe aiming to steal sales from traditional manufacturers. The Enyaq’s 2025 update should go some way to keep it at the forefront of practical electric SUVs.
The Czech brand will also expand its electric lineup with the Epiq city car in 2026, while work continues on a seven-seat EV and an electric estate car.
